Meryem shares these words along with the track and video “Deeply”: “I am a forest, and a night of dark trees: but who is not afraid of my darkness, will find banks full of roses under my cypresses.” – Frederic Nietzsche

“This song is dedicated to those who judge at first sight without taking the time to see the far side of the moon inside each of us. “Deeply” explores the depths of the intimate and the complexity of our human nature. It seeks to understand and accept this inner duel, this conflict of convictions, contradictory beliefs or feelings. This ambiguity between good and evil, this inability to define oneself as black or white, but rather a beautiful palette of colors varying according to the trajectory of our life.” – Meryem Aboulouafa

Lockeland Announces Upbeat Single, “Made For Morning”

“The inspiration for our new single, came out of a place where mornings start for many people, Starbucks. The “Made For Mornings” title was on a poster advertising a breakfast sandwich, to which we saw that and said, “that’s a song,” shared Lockeland. “The three of us along with Renn Anderson, sat down and began to write the story of a night life partier, who without warning, stumbles upon a love that is deep and genuine. The shallowness of his party lifestyle fades away as he finds a sense of renewal in the warmth of a coffee cup with her, instead of cocktails at the bar. We hope that our fans feel the passion, emotion and energy of this song just as much as we do.”

On “Forgive Myself,” GRIFF confirms her potential as the new face of British pop ready to take over the world. Flipping the break-up song on its head, it’s less about an ex or teenage heartache as it is the relationship you have with yourself: those doubts, insecurities and questions of self-worth that only you can fix, if you are to have the courage to love again. As rawly intimate as it is spiritually empowered, “Forgive Myself” takes influences of electronic music, soul and R&B rendered in richly DIY style (all held together by Griff’s soon-to-be instantly identifiable voice).

lovelytheband DROPS TIMELY ANIMATED MUSIC VIDEO FOR “i should be happy”

With a larger mission in mind to normalize conversations and seek help around the war within, lovelytheband tapped artist Maren Gainey to animate a visual story in rhythm with how the protagonist feels— lacking color, cloudy in tone, and life in slow motion. The band’s creative and vulnerable storytelling approach is launched through a black and white animation which ironically stars an unanimated, caricatured lead singer, Mitchy. Isolated inside at a desk looking at a photograph of friends (with plagues and awards on the wall behind him), the video presents a lesser talked-about reality as the country continues into extended stay-at-home orders—the secondary effects of isolation: feelings of depression, low self-worth and extreme loneliness.
