“Being a student of music and the game, Wayne is hip-hop’s Kobe Bryant to me. I was just a kid when I started observing Wayne. His dedication to his craft, his individuality and pure genuineness as a person has always appealed to me. Not only did he revolutionize music with his mixtapes and albums, but he cultivated his own sound that in turn cultivated a generation,” said Love Mansuy. “So for a legend like him to recognize my work and respect it enough to jump on my single, a song in which I contemplate the difficulties of choosing to pursue music while raising a son with my partner, is something you can only dream of. Being an artist is not easy, but Lil Wayne has taught me with hard work and dedication, you can do anything and his blessing means the world to me.”

A danceable beat propels the song forward through swells of bass and glitchy keys. Reaching a crossroads between deep house bliss, progressive scope, and unassuming pop power, the vocals by Tim Powell culminate on the echoes of a catchy confession, “Oh darling I don’t recognise me” before a muscular and magnetic drop.

Sam Rae shares heartfelt new single “Waukee” from her upcoming LP ‘Ten Thousand Years’, arriving Aug. 7th!

“Waukee came to life during the period of time that my Aunt Kathy was fighting cancer. It reminded me of the feelings I had after Sue passed away from cancer when I was about seventeen. She was the first sibling of my Mom’s to pass. The song touches on the importance of family and shares memories from my Mom’s generation as well as my own (yes, my mom ‘lit the family car on fire’). GASHI says of the album, “I wasn’t alive during that decade, but I connect so much with everything from that era. I love everything about 80s culture from the music to the films to the fashion and I always wished I could have experienced that time in history. My parents got married in 1984 and some of the greatest music ever made came from the 80s. I just wanted to make music that made people feel the way I feel when I hear anything from that era.”
