Hard Target announces new album and releases video for “All Day”

Florida rapper Hard Target has revealed the details for his new album “Joy Ridin”, which will surface via Dirt Rock Empire this summer. To celebrate the impending release of his new album, Hard Target has released the music video for the first single “All Day” online. The video was shot by Target and Breadwin in Hernando County, Florida before the pandemic broke out, as Hard Target gathered his crew of misfits to get faded in the sun at an epic house party. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the major revenue source for independent bands was the money they made from touring and playing live shows. This income is gone for the foreseeable future. Additionally, the major shifts that have come with the streaming economy often have the effect of marginalizing the most intrepid artists.

In the US, independent music is rarely–if ever–publicly funded. Yet churches seem to be the receive consistent support from the government. So JNR decided to create a church to support the arts.

Keeping within the requirements of social distancing, the “I Did It” video features footage that Kris filmed himself, as well as collages and animation by Lonewolf. In order to make the collages, Lonewolf pieced together imagery from dozens of vintage magazines from the 1960s and 1970s, which were then cut up, layered and assembled together.

Says Kris of the song and video, “This song is mostly a celebration of personal accomplishments and a reflection of the long journey and struggle it took to get there. Sonically, I feel like I figured out a way to bring all my influences together. This video is another accomplishment to add to the list and Lonewolf executed the vision 100%!”
