Steve Earle & The Dukes Release “Ghosts of West Virginia” Tomorrow – Full Album Live Stream Performance in Support of Labor Movement Announced

Steve Earle & The Dukes will release their anticipated Ghosts of West Virginia tomorrow via New West Records. The album centers on the Upper Big Branch coal mine explosion that killed twenty-nine men in that state in 2010, making it one of the worst mining disasters in American history. Its first seven songs were written for and performed by Earle in Coal Country, a play with music about the disaster. Opening to critical acclaim on March 3rd at the Public Theater in NYC, the production was postponed after only two weeks due to COVID-19.

The visual reflects the upbeat and undeniable energy of the song. It opens with AlunaGeorge enjoying a freshly lit joint in the bathtub before intercutting quarantine cameos from a cast of ZOOM’ED-in friends & notable musicians, including Donna Missal, Cxloe, Jillionaire, Lao Ra, and L Devine. Of course, Kito also makes an appearance as she dances in a self-made bedroom rave! The energy of the cameos match Kito’s distinct production as Aluna’s vocals shine on the hook, “I can’t be alone with you. When I’m alone with you, there’s no telling what we’ll do.”

Ellie Goulding Releases Brand New Song “Power” Taken From Forthcoming New Album

The new song, taken from Ellie’s forthcoming new album, showcases her knack for pop song-writing with earworm melodies and heavy synth-pop bass. Speaking about the song Ellie explains, “I wanted to release this song off my upcoming album as a preview into the world my new album is in! ‘Power’ is about relationships in the 21st century, how they can now be dictated by social media, superficiality and material things. Dating can sometimes start out with lies or embellishments. The girl in the song is disillusioned by love and the cruel, good looking, self-obsessed people she keeps ending up with.”

Trevor Dahl of multi-platinum group, Cheat Codes, gets personal on homemade video for solo track, “Can I Kiss You?””

Now, going by his surname, Trevor will be making music as “Dahl” in a project parallel to Cheat Codes, returning to his solo roots. With a hybrid of current influences from Bazzi and Lauv alongside the lyricism of John Mayer, Dahl reveals his talent for being a jack of all trades: writing, producing, and mixing.
