LA’s BOYO Debuts “Tough Kid” Video via FLOOD Magazine

“In ‘Tough Kid,’ I’m trying to pep myself up while also talking down to myself. I’m no tough kid, no matter how much I’d like to be,” explains Tilden. “We walk through life curating a version of ourselves and then putting our guards up to whatever extent a situation calls for. It’s when we let our guard down, and drop the tough exterior, that we can be our truest forms: ‘Take me to the places I can recognize.’”

Now, with a group of friends that included influencers Jay Alvarrez, Ayla Woodruff, and Celine Farach, the band released an adrenaline-pumping video for “Satisfy Me” that Billboard just premiered. The video is an eye-show that follows the band across seven countries, navigating battle-scarred streets in the Ukraine, swimming with 15-foot tiger sharks near Bora Bora, and even filming in the Dark Knight’s Bat Cave. While the video suggests that our lived experiences may be nothing more than AI simulations, all of the jaw-dropping footage here is real and as dangerous as it looks.

BREAKTHROUGH UK POP SIREN L DEVINE RELEASES NEW TRACK “DON’T SAY IT”

Of the song which she wrote alongside Grammy-nominated producers Rogét Chahayed (Halsey, Travis Scott) and John Hill (Rihanna, Charli XCX), L Devine says, “‘Don’t Say It’ is about when someone tells you they love you but they don’t mean it, they’re just telling you what you want to hear. It’s about how beautiful the lie is and how much you try to believe it, but the truth always reveals itself and hurts you. I love the way these feelings are depicted in the music too. There’s such an interesting use of space in the song and the contrasts between tranquillity and chaos in the music really reflect the lyrics.”

OUT TODAY: UK music mavericks I LIKE TRAINS present hard-hitting single ‘The Truth’

Leeds-based trailblazers I LIKE TRAINS present ‘The Truth’, an eye-opening lead track that forebodes their potent, hard-hitting new album ‘KOMPROMAT’, written as an instinctive gut reaction to a world that has changed beyond all recognition. This is a record that digs beneath populism’s rise, from the divide and conquer tactics that caused Brexit in the UK, to Trump’s ascent in America and the subsequent reign of lies and misinformation, to discover the grubby hands that have engineered it all.

The British quintet will release their fourth studio album via Schubert Music’s newly founded Atlantic Curve label in late summer. This is the band’s first record since 2012’s ‘The Shallows’, which focused on how the internet and smart technology is re-wiring the human mind and affecting our concentration spans. Now, with ‘KOMPROMAT’, it’s clear that this same technology, in the wrong hands, has taken an even more sinister turn. The game has changed – and I LIKE TRAINS have changed with it.

Jackboy Goes on a Speedboat Joyride in the “Pack A Punch” Video

A master of clipped cadences and memorable hooks, Jackboy has built a reputation as one of Florida’s best emcees. Taking advantage of his state’s pristine climate, Jackboy takes a boat out on Biscayne Bay in “Pack A Punch,” his latest video. Produced by SG Kid Hazel and Go Grizzly, “Pack A Punch” is a minimalist smack-talker, as Jackboy utilizes an ever-switching flow to elaborate on his boss tendencies: “Try to knock me down still I rise/In the chain gang had 4 knives/187 down for a ride/You know Jack gon’ cha cha slide.” In the video, Jack hops on a speedboat with some models and bottles, rocking several chains and his Sniper Gang ski goggles as he dances on the dock and tries out his new jetski. “Pack A Punch” is the latest video from JACKBOY, the rapper’s new project, following the recent video for “Won’t Understand.”

CHECK OUT MELVONI’S NEW VIDEO “NY”!

When Melvoni screams, “I’m from New York,” it tells you everything you need to know. The 16-year-old Brooklyn wunderkind represents the toughest spirit of New York through and through. Born to Jamaican parents, he spent his childhood back-and-forth between the States and Jamaica. Facing hardship growing up, he ditched his first part-time job after being robbed and turned to the streets. Yet, he took that hustle to the studio as soon as possible, recording music and catching the attention of his manager outside of a concert. In the aftermath, he found himself in an L.A. studio recording “No Man’s Land”—which originally might’ve featured the late and great Pop Smoke.

Paddlefish – ‘Small Song’ single

It is not easy to find a fresh take of the coming-of-age story, which is perhaps what makes Chicago-based Paddlefish’s debut studio album Flyer so appealing. Principal songwriter Owen Misterovich doesn’t so much rewrite the coming-of-age narrative as crack it open and expose the process itself. Written over the course of his first year away from his hometown of Springfield, Missouri, Misterovich presents eight tales told from the threshold between youth and adulthood, a chronological account of his own journey of disillusionment, acceptance, and eventual growth.
