2020 ARTIST TO WATCH RENCE RELEASES “TYPE 2” FEAT. CHLOE LILAC

“When I put out the original version of “Type 2,” I knew it wasn’t done. The song told my side of the story but left out 50% of the perspective it needed, and that’s exactly what Chloe brought. I’m so honored to have her on the song as a friend, but also as the dynamic and killer artist that she is. I love the opportunity to really re-work a record for a new version – not just putting a new verse on it – and that’s exactly what Chloe and I put our hearts into doing.”

I felt like I didn’t really have anything new to bring to the table, but ultimately what mattered was I cared and was going to do what it took to make it work. Ultimately, the past is exactly that — the past,” he continues. “I remember sitting on a friend’s speedboat a couple of summers ago getting bounced around by the waves, and the fast up and down movement put this melody into my head. I had the lyrics in my phone notes and sang it into a voice memo right there on the boat.”

“One of my favorite quotes is from Nikola Tesla. He said, “if you wish to understand the universe- think of energy, frequency, and vibration”. The purpose of this project is to introduce people to healing frequencies. The best way to do this was to make music that has the same vibe as what they are listening to right now and tune the song to 432Hz. So regardless of the lyrics or beat- the healing frequency can have a positive impact on the person listening to my music.”

MIKE MAGO & KELLI-LEIGH COLLABORATE ON NEW SINGLE, “ON REPEAT,” OUT TODAY

“I have been a fan of Kelli-Leigh’s voice for ages and really felt her lyrics when I first heard her acapella demo for ‘On Repeat.’ Of course, I think she can make any lyric sound great!” recalls Mike Mago. “I tried to match the lyrical concept of the song with something musically that has a repetitive drive but still sounds adventurous – hence the loop that varies in timing. It was truly one of those processes that just seemed to work from the get-go.”
