Little Kid (Pinegrove, Car Seat Headrest, Half Waif) – Shares New Single

Operating since 2011, Little Kid is Toronto-based band led by songwriter Kenny Boothby. Despite never signing to a label, Little Kid has built a cult audience through performances with artists like Car Seat Headrest, Horse Jumper of Love, Fog Lake and Half Waif, and a prolific output of idiosyncratic home recordings, that range from more traditional albums and EPs to projects like 2019’s Botched Restorations – on which Boothby sold out a run of one-of-a-kind 60 minute cassettes that each contained 10 songs from his discography, chosen by the purchaser and recorded live to tape in his bedroom. Today, Little Kid have announced their signing with a label for the first time, working with buzzing Brooklyn indie Solitaire Recordings (Kate Davis, Common Holly) to release a soon to be announced album that sees a rare songwriting talent deliver on the promise of his earlier work on an expanded scale.

Gretchen Peters Shares “Wish I Was” From Mickey Newbury Album out 5/15

“‘Wish I Was’ is one of the first Newbury songs I remember hearing,” Peters tells Billboard. “I’ve known and loved the song since the late 70s, so it was always on my short list for this album. I’m drawn to visual imagery in songs, and this lyric is like a little movie; full of beautiful images (I wish I was a grain of sand/playing in a baby’s hands/falling like a diamond chain into the ocean) and that pervasive sadness that Mickey’s songs are known for.”

Rockie Fresh Shares the Lyric Video for “Must Be,” a Chris Brown-Featuring Banger

Wielding lilting melodies and an effortless laid-back charm, Rockie Fresh is one of rap’s most reliably chill figures. LIVINGSTON SHARES NEW SINGLE “YOUNG” AND OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO

Livingston commented on “Young”, stating: “‘Young’ is about the idealism I had as a child – I always thought that if I could just make people like me, it would solve my problems. That if I had a certain status or some remarkable event that made me different, I would be as good as the kids that didn’t understand me. As I got older, I started to find myself and fit in more social circles, I found a passion for music, I started becoming someone my younger self wished he was – but it still didn’t make me happy. That’s a really important part of growing up. Thinking that you have found the answer, living in it for five minutes and realizing you still have so much more to learn.”

DAN CROLL Announces New Album – Grand Plan – Out August 21

Dan Croll has announced his third album, Grand Plan, out August 21 on Communion Records and has unveiled his two newest singles, title track “Grand Plan” and “Work.” With a sound that leans into the Laurel Canyon’s 1960s and 1970s scene, which has always inspired Croll heavily, the two tracks showcase a new side of the artist. While “Grand Plan” touches on the feeling that everyone but yourself has a grand idea for life and you’re still figuring out the basics, “Work” is a simple and romantic song about being in the early stages of a relationship and wanting to forget about the real world.
