Chelsea Williams – Pop/Roots Album “Beautiful & Strange” Out May 8

Beautiful & Strange offers a blend of catchy pop sensibilities and Americana/roots, but it also draws on Chelsea Williams’ eclectic musical palette with hints of jazz and psychedelia. Her charming, confident songwriting and airy vocals maintain an underlying current of optimism, whether she’s dissecting relationship dynamics or examining the notion of destiny. Teaming up with her husband/producer Ross Garren (Ben Folds, Bon Iver), Williams expands on her previous work by incorporating everything from toy pianos and singing saws to sweeping string arrangements and a symphony of harmonicas and keys. Beautiful & Strange is a bold, cinematic album that strikes the right balance between whimsy, spontaneity and sophistication.
