Henrik Lindstrand’s new video “Tilden” out now

Of the video, directed by Daniel Buchwald, Lindstrand says, “‘Tiden’ means ‘the time’ and I wanted the video to contain elements of movement, something that was drifting like time. We found this beautiful ship, ‘Jutlandia’ in Copenhagen, and on the day of filming in early November we sailed out of the harbor. It had rained all night and winds were increasing but we took the opportunity to get some nice footage despite the rough weather. I think Daniel captured the core of the music with his visual concept so beautifully and I’m very happy with the result. The video has this slow constant pace… we just float with it. Like time.”

Ian Chang (Son Lux) shares piercing track “舞狮

The album is set for release April 24th 2020 via City Slang, with an updated vinyl/cd release date of May 24th due to product delays related to COVID-19. In nine concise, largely instrumental pop songs, Chang conjures a personal cosmos: the listener feels as if we might reach out and touch 属 Belonging’s jagged and tender aural sculptures. At every level, his music sings with earnest and deceptive simplicity. The album’s melodies are intimate, its rhythms rewarding, and yet, just beneath the surface glimmers innovation, as if the neurons firing in each melodic idea have become audible. From the tradition of Bjork, Burial, and Flying Lotus, Chang breathes a new kind of human vulnerability into electronica.

Tianda – ‘MY GOD’ out now

For most of my life, I have struggled with obsessive compulsive disorder and insecurities about self-image. Because of this, living with OCD and experiencing ‘micro-stardom’ as a child had a huge impact on me. I think we all have thoughts (like bullies), or trauma, or experiences we can’t let go of that pop up into our minds when we’re lying in bed at night or listening to music alone. The hook of they won’t let me go repeating over and over captures the feeling of being held captive by thoughts you don’t understand and can’t control.

“In an age of singles, High Strangeness connects us with the music making traditions of the past where an album is representative of a complete thought; the weaving together of several threads into one cohesive story. The sonic landscape is set with each section, Above, Below and Within, while the lyrical narrative connects ideas of the supernatural, malevolence, and time” says the band’s vocalist Ashleigh Semkiw.
