Call The Wolf Releases Video for “Black Moon”

The video was directed by Ryan Glover and shot in Toronto over the course of three days. “‘Black Moon’ is one of our songs on the heavier side, and we all felt it would make for a cool first single,” elaborates the band’s frontman and guitarist, Preston Moore. “Ryan really managed to capture the feeling of the song, while complimenting the energy of the band’s performance.” “Black Moon” is drawn from the band’s self-titled debut album, released in November 2019.

When The Dream Syndicate emerged in the early 80s, front man Steve Wynn declared, “We’re playing music we want to hear because nobody else is doing it.” He added, “I’ll compromise on what I eat or where I sleep, but I won’t compromise on what music I play.” Both were true, and although their template of Velvet Underground meets Crazy Horse may seem commonplace today (and let’s not forget, the Syndicate spawned many imitators), their raw twin guitar, bass and drums approach was not common during an era when slick, polished MTV bands ruled.

During the process of recording “Budapest,” I was really into harmonies, but wrote too many for the song. I actually had to go back and delete a lot of them once it ended up being like, you know… an entire choir of me singing “Ahhs” underneath stuff – that was probably unnecessary, but I really liked the kind of Gregorian-esque harmonies that I came up with.

Parkway Drive Release ‘Viva The Underdogs’ Soundtrack

Today, Australian metal band Parkway Drive release Viva The Underdogs, the soundtrack to the band’s documentary film by the same name. Featuring 11 live tracks from the band’s 2019 headlining set at German heavy metal festival Wacken Open Air, the soundtrack also includes 3 studio tracks recorded in German; “Würgegriff (Vice Grip)”, “Die Leere (The Void)”, and “Schattenboxen (Shadow Boxing)” which features German rapper Casper.
