Charli XCX approved/Swedish Grammy Nominated COBRAH releases subversive slice of ‘BDSM-pop’ on new single ‘DEBUT’

COBRAH is the Stockholm based electro artist, songwriter and producer that balances somewhere in the borderland between pop star, performance artist and agitator. With a visual expression inspired by punk, BDSM and fetish culture in just the past year, she was nominated for a Swedish Grammy as co-director of her debut music video, released the indominable ‘TEA’ via Rinse and was invited on stage by Charli XCX at her show in Stockholm.

Now, COBRAH sets her sights on global domination with new bop ‘DEBUT’, due for release today (March 13th) . “‘DEBUT’ is about introducing someone you know to something new that might be a bit scary but exciting,” says COBRAH. She goes on to add … “like bringing a friend to a crazy rave. In my case ‘DEBUT’ is about a point in my life where I casually dated a few straight girls and I wanted to write something that captures all the emotions that they felt.”

Black Crown Initiate Release Their Stellar Single “Invitation”

CRYPTEX Releases Second Single and Breathtaking Video From New Album

It’s a well-known fact that the music is at its most powerful when it arouses our curiosity instead of simply providing us with prefabricated answers. When it caresses our soul rather than just rousing our intellect. When it boldly embraces revelations unapologetically and is not afraid to dig deep instead of anxiously scratching the surface. CRYPTEX combines all these qualities on Once Upon A Time. The third album of the band from North Germany is their most emotional, most profound and uncompromising piece of work yet, arresting in its propensity for darkness. An album with songs stylistically ranging from (progressive) rock to metal, from calm to violent, from catchy to virtuous tunes. And a slogan as emotionally unsurpassable as the band’s music: “Love is the answer!”. Once Upon A Time will be released worldwide on 8 May 2020 – it’s a red-letter day: there may not be an international cultural revolution happening but Once Upon A Time will make all of our lives a bit more colourful and certainly leave its mark.

For Skope: Felix Cartal releases folk-inspired “Mine” with Sophie Simmons (out now)

“In ‘Mine’ each verse is about a different kind of love. Verse 1 is about being sixteen, and your childhood, Verse 2 – a post-college adult and, The Bridge is a more mature adult looking back. We wanted it to be folk-ish in melody and in production to emphasize the focus on it being a narrative, really story-driven. Finally, the drop melody is Sophie singing a clean, sweet melody, and it being distorted kind of like what happens when one looks back on memories. We often remember them differently as time passes.” – Felix Cartal
