Born out of an online message board looking for bandmates, Bay Faction emerged in the Boston DIY scene in 2015 performing at house shows and small venues in the neighborhood of Allston. Comprised of James McDermott, Kris Roman, and drummer Alex Agresti (who replaced original drummer Connor Godfrey) the band released two EPs, an album entitled Florida Guilt, embarked on a series of tours that helped them develop a cult-like following around the US playing with artists such as Japanese Breakfast, Long Beard and Mister Goblin.

LA-based Alt-R&B artist Alt Bloom released his new track “Damn Baby” today via Big MTN Records. The track encapsulates singer/songwriter Ethan Thompson’s nostalgia for LA weather and summer romance, much like his first single of 2020, “West Coast.”

The idea “Damn Baby” came about during a a flight for Alt Bloom. “It was written top to bottom on a plane – I still have a voice memo of me whispering the lyrics into my phone, trying not to tick off my fellow passengers. Hence the line “I’m writing songs ’bout you on the back of a plane. It ended up being one of my favorite tracks to play live.”
