“I had just quit my job, gave up my house, sold all my belongings & decided to pack up and head over to LA for a while. I went to a bands show in Hollywood & ended up on tour with them for a few days. I wrote heartless on the train ride back, I was having a come down from being on the road & returning to normal life. I think Heartless encompasses everything that LA is…it’s conflicted because it’s full of guts & vulnerability at the same time”
