Didirri Shares Reflective New Single “Raw Stuff”
Didirri has kicked off the new year with the reflective new single “Raw Stuff” and accompanying music video. True to its name, “Raw Stuff” captures an unspoken, universal experience – when two people, despite how close they are, are unable to open up to one other. Fortunately, the story and the song both find a resolution. The Alternative singer-songwriter has also announced he’ll be in North America for SXSW, followed by dates with label mates Alex The Astronaut and Jack River in Los Angeles (March 24th @ The Bootleg), Brooklyn (March 26th @ Baby’s All Right), and Toronto (March 27th @ The Drake).
Young talent isn’t a rare commodity these days but young talent with a distinguished voice, polished writing skills, poise, and a sense of self and determination isn’t commonplace. And in an era where having teams of people writing one single song is considered the norm, Munsey is her own team writing effortless electro-pop melodies and lyrics with indie vibes that float along to her dreamy vocals as she sings about everyday teen angst.
One-woman DIY-pop project Madge, today (Jan 30th) returns with a ten-tonne, sonic boom of pop in ‘Headshot’. Having just been announced as an artist in residency for ‘Future Classics x Dropbox’ – and cutting her teeth as a producer with Pussy Riot, YUNGBLUD & Travis Barker – Madge now looks to establish herself as one of the most audacious and essential artist/producers working at the moment.

BEFORE SUNDAY to release debut album in April (Rockshots-Italy)
BEFORE SUNDAY has signed a worldwide deal with Rockshots Records to release their debut album “Anticipation” in April 2020.
BEFORE SUNDAY is a band with a raw, energetic and personal attitude. Based in London, UK, originally from Greece, guitarist and songwriter Nik Basis formed the band in 2012. Singer Stella Panteloudi quickly joined the group, and the duo relocated to London the following year.
Today, PopMatters has premiered the album highlight “P-Town.” They state, “It is a quintessential Hiatt tune: elements of jangle and twang intermingle with loud, flesh-raising rock ‘n’ roll and lyrical forthrightness. It shows, in sharp relief, the difference between an emerging artist and one who has arrived.” Hear the song HERE.
Directed by Joan Bosch [Gorgon City’s “There for You” featuring MK] and shot in Barcelona, the music video shocks the lyrics to life. A group of friends kick back in a parking lot before the track takes over, and the female protagonist quite literally bends over backwards under the rush of love. The visual jumps to a flashy and frenetic dance routine awash in neon lights and turn-of-the-century raver style as it pulsates to a driving rhythm.

New music: PJ Orr’s “Tightrope Walker”
PJ Orr has made something very special with his latest album, the second since departing Sydney psych-rock group Hailer. PJ is the (sub)urbanite poet who has emerged from the fog to present Tightrope Walker, a guitar record that will leave you levitating as strangely familiar sounds swan and seesaw all over your subconscious. To celebrate the announcement, PJ Orr shares the album’s eponymous first single – it’s a haunted record, perhaps. But like a punch-drunk boxer, it sways yet ultimately manages to stay triumphant on its own two feet.
15 of the Most Anticipated Albums of 2020
2020 is already shaping up to be a massive year for music. We just haven’t heard much of it yet. It’s all just over a horizon too hazy to reveal exactly where or when. Our anticipation is based solely on rumors and a slow trickle of teaser tracks pointing the way towards a glut of exciting new records. The only trouble is that those crafty musicians like to play coy. They like to build buzz by repping their upcoming albums long before we get to hear any of it.
Today, Sydney AUS quartet Loose Fit are sharing their debut single “Pull The Lever.” Taken from the forthcoming self-titled EP, set for release through FatCat Records on April 3, “Pull The Lever” wastes no time in marking the band’s intent. A purposeful, broad-shouldered, looping bass motif is set front-and-centre against wiry guitar chuntering and scatter-gun percussion. Lead singer Anna Langdon marries charismatic, pitch-black vocals to lyrics that mix oblique imagery with emotionally powerful subject matter. It starkly paints life as an endless series of risky gambles, Langdon nonchalantly commanding, “Pull the lever, try your luck again, colours spinning, wind them up again, it’s time to start again.”
Vex Red announce headline UK tour + latest single ‘Air’
They released their latest track Air from recent EP Give Me The Dark back in November via SaySomething Records, the bands first collection of new music since their debut record Start With A Strong And Persistent Desire back in 2002, and after a long break they’ve picked up exactly where they left off. Give Me The Dark was hailed as a triumphant return to glory.

Rising singer/songwriter Aubrie Sellers shares gritty new single “Lucky Charm” ahead of the release of her highly-anticipated sophomore album Far From Home this coming Friday on Soundly Music. Eliyahu Sills and Rachel Valfer, a highly popular duo among Bay Area world music enthusiasts, are now excited to release Open the Gates on January 31st. The album, a collection of Jewish Middle Eastern music both contemporary and timeless in approach finds its inspiration in the historic and mystical melodies of antiquity.
Mizrahi music, or music of immigrants from Arab lands, was long deemed inferior by Ashkenazi (European) Jews. But now as young Jewish people around the world seek connection to their ancestral origins through music, Rachel and Eliyahu’s Open the Gates couldn’t be more timely. They found their love for the music and each other as they explored music from around the world as The Qadim Ensemble.

After a busy 2018, the duo decided to focus entirely on the studio. Neo is the result of about a year worth of music-making.
