TCTS UNVEILS MUSIC VIDEO FOR “NOT READY FOR LOVE” FEATURING MAYA B

Directed by Joan Bosch [Gorgon City’s “There for You” featuring MK] and shot in Barcelona, the music video shocks the lyrics to life. A group of friends kick back in a parking lot before the track takes over, and the female protagonist quite literally bends over backwards under the rush of love. The visual jumps to a flashy and frenetic dance routine awash in neon lights and turn-of-the-century raver style as it pulsates to a driving rhythm.

PJ Orr has made something very special with his latest album, the second since departing Sydney psych-rock group Hailer. PJ is the (sub)urbanite poet who has emerged from the fog to present Tightrope Walker, a guitar record that will leave you levitating as strangely familiar sounds swan and seesaw all over your subconscious. To celebrate the announcement, PJ Orr shares the album’s eponymous first single – it’s a haunted record, perhaps. But like a punch-drunk boxer, it sways yet ultimately manages to stay triumphant on its own two feet.

15 of the Most Anticipated Albums of 2020

2020 is already shaping up to be a massive year for music. We just haven’t heard much of it yet. It’s all just over a horizon too hazy to reveal exactly where or when. Our anticipation is based solely on rumors and a slow trickle of teaser tracks pointing the way towards a glut of exciting new records. The only trouble is that those crafty musicians like to play coy. They like to build buzz by repping their upcoming albums long before we get to hear any of it.

LOOSE FIT sign to FatCat Records

Today, Sydney AUS quartet Loose Fit are sharing their debut single “Pull The Lever.” Taken from the forthcoming self-titled EP, set for release through FatCat Records on April 3, “Pull The Lever” wastes no time in marking the band’s intent. A purposeful, broad-shouldered, looping bass motif is set front-and-centre against wiry guitar chuntering and scatter-gun percussion. Lead singer Anna Langdon marries charismatic, pitch-black vocals to lyrics that mix oblique imagery with emotionally powerful subject matter. It starkly paints life as an endless series of risky gambles, Langdon nonchalantly commanding, “Pull the lever, try your luck again, colours spinning, wind them up again, it’s time to start again.”
