Vandenberg Return With Brand New Album And New Line-Up

Vandenberg is back! Or should we say: Vandenberg are back? The man himself, Adrian Vandenberg has never really been away, but the band that carries his proud name has returned, after an absence that lasted for more than three decades Vandenberg is very much alive again in a young, fresh and all-revised 2020 version.

Adrian Vandenberg can already look back on a rich career. He played in Whitesnake for over 13 years, having been part of this seminal band’s most legendary line-up. He was the driving force behind Manic Eden and more recently, Vandenberg’s Moonkings, but equally proud he looks back on Vandenberg, the Dutch band that put him on the map, internationally: “So many people still come up to me and speak about those glory days and the albums I’ve made with that band.”

Crisman share “Surprise”

While Madeline Dowd’s visual artwork playfully relays adult themes through childlike imagery, her band Crisman swaps the acrylics and spray paint for hazily-filtered vocals gently layered over slowcore arrangements to find yet another medium for masking emotional turmoil with innocence.

In 2011, Dowd left her hometown of Alpharetta, Georgia for Denton, Texas, where she met Dead Sullivan frontperson Boone Patrello. Their chemistry led to 2018’s Crisman Tape, which Gold Flake Paint called “a hidden and unhurried gem in the current DIY scene.” For the band’s self-titled debut studio album, Dowd and Patrello teamed up with another fellow Denton musician in MAH KEE OH’s Grahm Robinson. Contrasted against the childlike playfulness of Dowd’s paintings, the band’s collective experience is refracted throughout the measured ten-song collection.

DEATHWHITE Stream New Album in Full via Kerrang!

Comments the band: “With the release of ‘Grave Image’ rapidly approaching, it is our distinct pleasure to share the album in its entirety. It is the result of over two years’ worth of hard work, whereupon it was of utmost importance we continued to progress as a dark metal band. While ‘Grave Image’ is very much a reflection of the rapidly fraying state of the world, it is our fear that the overriding theme of mankind’s precipitous race to the bottom will still be prevalent in years to come. In the here and now, however, it is our wish the album resonates with those who feel the same as us.”

Salim Nourallah to release new EP, Jesus of Sad, tomorrow

When asked to sum up his 25-year career in music, singer/songwriter/producer Salim Nourallah says, “I feel like the Texas version of Nick Lowe, except I haven’t entered my silver-haired crooner phase yet.” When he was a kid, Nourallah looked up to Lowe, mainly because he was the best example teenage Salim could find of a musician who led a double life of sorts, making his own records while also producing other artists. It’s still a relatively uncommon phenomenon.

Chicago based singer / songwriter Evan Uhlmann’s new single, “Dying Again”, is out on all streaming services now! His first piece of music released in 9 years is also the first single off his upcoming new album “Tea Lady”, out March 27th. “Dying Again” is a sad track about past lives and experiencing the same moment over again. The slightly twangy guitar in the background helps set a sad mood over the track. It’s hard not to imagine a sad moment of a time where things don’t work out in a positive manner while listening to this track. But, if one reads into the chorus they might find a different meaning. “It’s alright now, I think I’m dying again” (one of Uhlmann’s favorite lyrics from the album) is described by Uhlmann as not the end of things, but more so the transition into something else.
