Lamb of God Guitarist MARK MORTON Releases First Video from Solo EP

MORTON’s second solo offering is primarily acoustic and consists of three original tracks and two covers. MORTON cites “All I Had To Lose,” released last week as a single, as “one of the most personal songs I have ever written.”

As with last year’s solo debut, Anesthetic, the guitarist enlisted the talents of various musicians and vocalists to bring his songs to life. In addition to Morales, who regularly tours as part of MORTON’s live band, Ether features appearances by Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), Howard Jones (Killswitch Engage, Light the Torch), John Carbone (Moon Tooth). The EP is made up of three original songs and two covers that once again showcase MORTON’s diversity as a musician. Ether was produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God, Gojira, Trivium).

SOCIAL ANIMALS RELEASE NEW SINGLE “BEST YEARS”

Constant travel turns you into a ghost in your own home. The first time you leave, there are tears when you go and tears when you return. The tenth time, nobody asks where you’re going. The hundredth time, nobody cares. – Dedric Clark

“Best Years” encapsulates the feeling of putting life on pause during tour, and watching that decision manifest into stunted relationships as those you leave behind inevitably move on and continue to grow without you. Frontman Dedric Clark’s lyrics cut through the glamorization of life on the road, when he proclaims “One too many times when you’re always leaving, nobody cares if you stay. And some nights when I drive, I’m not sure who steers. I can’t tell if I’m wasted or just wasting all my best years.”

ANNIHILATOR Canadian Heavy Metal/Thrash Legends Debut “Dressed Up For Evil” Lyric Video

Issues founding guitarist, vocalist, producer, and principal songwriter Jeff Waters of the track, “Evil in the guise of a man; that’s how I would describe the theme in this one. People who have no good in them. Destroying all in their way with abuse, lies, and negativity. Generally, just being a nasty human being and ruining lives in the name of money; thinking that it makes them special. It just makes them evil and a waste of life. Musically-speaking, this one is as old-school ANNIHILATOR metal as it gets. It’s obvious that the vibe in this tune reminds us of the early days of the band; even extending back to the demo days from ’84-’88. A highlight for me in this song is the legendary voice of Raven’s John Gallagher on backing vocals with Durham’s Kat Shevil Gillham (Winds Of Genocide). An honor to have John on this record and his voice helps make this song a killer. Oh, and lots of shred guitar, as some have been demanding for a while! We hope you like this one… we do!”

Introducing Max Leone, newest signing to The Darkroom (Billie Eilish)

Throughout his debut EP, Leone tells his story of navigating a new city alone while chasing a potentially far-fetched dream. He explores themes of self-doubt, longing for anything familiar, and coping with ‘modern isolation’: keeping up appearances on social media while silently suffering.

Lev Snowe releases sophomore EP ‘Someday Soon’

Today, Canadian dream-pop artist Lev Snowe shares his sophomore EP Someday Soon. Through lush, hazy production that emerged from the confines of limited technology, Lev’s voice swirls in and out of focus creating a surreal, dreamlike state for the listener. His lyrics are a foreign fantasy about needing to travel beyond his home in order to find traces of the next him as he juggles with memories that pull him backwards.
