new song from The Turning soundtrack from Lawrence Rothman ft. Pale Waves

“The Turning takes place in 1990’s – instead of using licensed 90’s music- Floria and I wanted to create a soundtrack that was 90’s influenced, mixing our favorite new artists and a few from the 90’s era. Giving the film its own world and its own unique version of the 90’s that only the film lives in. “SkinDeepSkyHighHeartWide” was written from the perspective of Kate, played by Mackenzie Davis. Her character is driven to madness from harboring a truth that know one wants to believe. The people she confides in abandon her which drives her to delusion and into a mental abyss. Heather from Pale Waves vocal was tracked in two takes, her voice added a beautiful rawness and urgency to the lyrics that bound together with the fractured Kate”

Bonny Light Horseman (Anaïs Mitchell, Eric D. Johnson, & Josh Kaufman) Share New Single “The Roving,”

Bonny Light Horseman—the new trio of Anaïs Mitchell, Eric D. Johnson (Fruit Bats), and Josh Kaufman (Craig Finn, Josh Ritter, The National)—today released new single “The Roving” from their self-titled debut album, due out January 24th via 37d03d Records. Produced by Kaufman, Bonny Light Horseman finds the group reimagining traditional songs and cowriting new ones based loosely on specific sources. “These 500-year-old lyrics are so deeply applicable,” Johnson explains. “‘The Roving’ could be the plot of an ’80s teen movie: ‘I had a wild summer with this awesome girl then she broke my heart!’ How incredible is it that as humans we still just want to love and have sex and feel sad and fight?” Mitchell adds, “Everyone will recognize this story, where you detect the littlest flicker in your lover’s eye, and you know it’s the beginning of the end. We added a singalong chorus so everyone could bond about this!”
