They’ve done it! LadBaby are back at the top of the tree as their current single ‘I Love Sausage Rolls’ has claimed the title of 2019’s Christmas #1. Frank Zappa’s “The Hot Rats Sessions,” Celebrating 50th Anniversary Of His Legendary 1969 Solo Album “Hot Rats”

On the eve of what would have been Frank Zappa’s 79th birthday, Zappa Records and UMe are thrilled to release the massive six-disc boxed set, The Hot Rats Sessions, celebrating the legendary composer’s inimitable, groundbreaking first solo album, Hot Rats, and his highly prolific 1969 period. This expansive new collection documents and compiles every composition recorded during several days in July 1969 when Zappa recorded Hot Rats and a wealth of other material that ended up being used throughout multiple releases during his lifetime. Filled with an abundance of rare and unedited mixes, work mixes, relevant Vault nuggets and complete basic tracks mixed from the original multi-track master tapes by Craig Parker Adams and mastered by Bob Ludwig in 2019, the collection provides a fascinating look into the making of this classic album, and includes essentially every musical entity that was recorded during these iconic sessions.

Beneath The Massacre’s ‘Feamonger’ Available For Pre-orders

Fearmonger was recorded, mixed, and mastered over an eight-month period at The Grid Productions (The Agonist, Despised Icon) in Montréal by friend, fellow death metal shredder (in Canadian legends Cryptopsy), and studio guru Christian Donaldson. The entire effort started with newcomer Anthony Barone tracking drums in October 2018. Barone’s sessions were followed up by Chris laying down the guitars in November and his brother Dennis putting in the bottom end in December. Finally, Desgagnés bellowed in the studio mic in January 2019, with the mix and master sessions occupying the remaining three months. The overall timeline to finish Fearmonger: eight months. Certainly, there was no rush to finish Fearmonger. It was important for Beneath the Massacre to let the extremity, the brutality, the sheer technicality prevail over time.

Oakland GRAMMY nominated children’s hip-hop group Alphabet Rockers share “Until You’re Free”

“It’s not just that my childhood and adolescence might have been wildly different if I had had this as a soundtrack… it’s that I, in my 40-year-old body, need the language, teachings, and modeling that this album brings as much (if not more) than most of the young people I know.” – Merrill Garbus of tUnE-yArDs

Dark Fortress Release “Pulling At Threads” From ‘Spectres From The Old World’

Venerated black metal specialists DARK FORTRESS return with a new album, Spectres from the Old World, on February 28th, 2020. After a six-year gap, Germany’s darkest sons continue where Venereal Dawn (2014) left off conceptually. Dark Fortress vocalist Morean states, “together with the rest of the human race, the protagonist reincarnated as a disembodied creature of pure light in ‘On Fever’s Wings’, the last song of Venereal Dawn. The new album attempts to draw a picture of such a mind’s perspective on life – reincarnating as pure, massless energy. The narrator has become the fabric of the universe itself. This is where heavy physics and string theory come in.”

“Fearless” Victoria Canal Releases “Drama” Music Video, Announces 22-Date, Coast-to-Coast Tour

HuffPost has just premiered the music video for “Drama,” Victoria Canal’s propulsive new single that Rolling Stone called a “Song You Need To Know.” The release comes on the heels of Canal’s one-hour special on CNN Español, as well as performances at Paste and Billboard where she spoke about the message of “Drama” and standing up to the inner critic that so often stops us from being comfortable in our own skin. The release coincides with the launch of Nike’s new FlyEase Air Jordan I, which Victoria is the rep and model for as part of the Fearless Ones, a series celebrating “a new generation of defiant, talented individuals.” The 21-year-old singer/songwriter will be touring the U.S. this winter as part of a 22-date, coast-to-coast tour with Boston electrofolk duo Tall Heights, and is also slated to appear at SXSW in March.

for Skope: Vlade Kay and DJ Snake team up on “All This Lovin” (out now)

Look no further than Vlade Kay and DJ Snake’s new track “All This Lovin'” to heat things up this holiday season. The Russian prodigy brings his dynamic and energetic sound to the rest of the world with his first international single, and it doesn’t disappoint. Vlade fuses piano melodies into a percussive buildup before the bouncy, groovy drop, all overlaid with soulful vocals that add the finishing touch to this heartfelt but dance floor friendly track. “All This Lovin” took shape after Vlade Kay and DJ Snake met at a writing camp in LA, getting together soon after to produce their premiere collaboration. The track follows Vlade’s Russian based “Interlude” EP earlier this year. Stay tuned for the music video to “All This Lovin” that’s rumored to be in the works!
