Rookes releases new music video in collaboration with graphic designer Matt Gelder
The song was fed to an algorithm of Matt’s design, whereby the surface of the shape onscreen would be affected and manipulated by the dynamics of the song. The effect is one of synaethesia – reflecting something of Rookes’ own experience of hearing and seeing music simultaneously.
The experience of watching it is hypnotic, strangely organic and sensual – reminiscent of the lyrical content of the song.

A LIFE DIVIDED have released their new single ‘Addicted’
Imagine if you could send your latest favorite rock record on a journey through time and into the past – what would it sound like? That’s exactly what A LIFE DIVIDED had in mind when creating their new album ‘Echoes’ out January 31st on AFM Records.
“It was during the 80s when we first came into contact with music. At that time I bought my first Adidas Allround sneakers, let my hair grow and played the songs of my metal heroes on guitar”, recalls vocalist Jürgen Plangger, songwriter and producer Erik Damköhler was more of a synth-wave fan back then. “That’s how we came up with the idea of mixing our A Life Divided-style with the typical synth-sounds of the 80s. ‘Echoes’ as a result was something completely new: 13 songs that combine our dark alternative rock with the zeitgeist of the 80s”.
Jürgen Plangger states: “The songs on the new album “Echoes” revolve around the theme of finiteness and the echo that is left from all of us. Finiteness is threatening when we love and live, but it can also be comforting when we grieve, experience hurt or have been disappointed. But there is always an echo, a quiet reminder, of what was.”

When starting to plan out the second EP we wanted to have a concept like our first one. With songs like Nine Eleven and Faul wrote this point. We look common factors were in the songs and came to the conspiracy/lies concept. This EP is an important installment that embodies the fundamentals of the band — the reality is more horrifying than fiction. This is a concept EP based on the Latin word Mendacium — meaning untruth and or to be lied to. The first single Nine Eleven is just that — presenting a version of tragic historical events from various angles and the alleged truths that were presented. The intention of each song is to unmask the deception forced upon the masses pushing them to challenge their own perception of reality.”

Mastermind Tamás Kátai comments on the new track: “Tsitsushka is an instrumental song, and it’s one of the more playful ones. I had this vision of a weird ethno-sci-fi soundtrack with brass and some friends helped me out with the execution: Badó Réti from Gire on fretless bass, Zoltán Pál from Sear Bliss on trombone, Péter Jelasity on saxophone and P. W. Herman brought in some voices.”
