“Need to Say” is Caroline Blind’s second offering of her upcoming album The Spell Between, due out in February 2020. This new dark and atmospheric composition comes a month after the release of “God Damn The Sun,” an homage to the classic Swans hit. “Need to Say,” sounds delicate and ethereal; it features Rich W. of The Wake in bass, and it was produced, mixed and mastered by Gordon Young.

“Los Angeles felt like the perfect place to reflect the chorus line ‘like a city drowning in its own possibilities,’” explains Khushi. “We wanted to convey the passing of a full day so we were up shooting at dawn in the beautiful Trebek Open Space and ended in downtown at sunset. We wanted this sped up passing of time to emphasize the sometimes overwhelming possibilities in a big city and in turn the endless possibilities in ourselves.”

The band offers with the video, “‘Silver And Lead’ is about the struggle between the haves and the have-nots. Those with the money (silver) are able to maintain their power through suppression (lead). That suppression allows them to amass further wealth and the cycle continues as the have-nots struggle just to survive. This song is the inner turmoil and struggle we must face in our daily lives, trying to fight against those that would grind us down. This video, deftly created by Gridfailure, perfectly conveys that anguished panic and rage that we, the have-nots, endure every single day.”

Earlier this year, The Unlikely Candidates released their hit song “Novocaine”, which skyrocketed in popularity since the music video was released this past Spring. The music video has over 10 million views to date and the song has over 25 million streams worldwide. The track is currently heading into the Top 10 on the Alternative radio chart and was featured in the season 4 trailer of HULU’s popular TV show Veronica Mars.
The Unlikely Candidates have been touring nonstop in 2019 with the likes of The Score, The Goo Goo Dolls, and Mariana’s Trench, and show no signs of slowing down. The band will be wrapping up a busy year of touring by playing a handful of radio shows and will then kick off 2020 with a headline tour starting January 5th in Covington, KY and ending on January 22nd in Ybor City, FL.

New West Records will release a 10th Anniversary Edition of Randall Bramblett’s 2010 studio album The Meantime on January 31st. The 14-song set was produced by Bramblett and recorded and mixed by John Keane at John Keane Studios in Athens, GA. The new, deluxe edition of the album includes two previously unreleased bonus tracks from the original sessions and will be available on vinyl for the first time. Remastered for vinyl by Jason NeSmith at Chase Park Transduction in Athens, GA, The Meantime will be available as a double LP pressed on Limited Edition Burnt Orange Vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve.
