XPN/The Key Premieres Cheerleader’s “Everyone’s Wearing Skin” – “Almost Forever” LP out 2/7 via Bright Antenna
Before they release their new album Almost Forever next year, Cheerleader shared a third single, “Everyone’s Wearing Skin.” The Philly dream pop band has been on hiatus for a bit, but returned strong with new tunes this summer and fall. Almost Forever will be the follow-up to Cheerleader’s 2015 debut album The Sunshine of Your Youth, and is out February 7 on Bright Antenna Records.
Ant Saunders Releases Music Video For “Yellow Hearts” via Arista Records
Today, 18-year-old artist Ant Saunders releases the official music video for his viral hit, “Yellow Hearts” following his recent signing with Arista Records. Emanating a nostalgic and intimate tone, the video was shot in his hometown of Woodbury Heights, New Jersey. The 16mm filmed video features Saunders and his real-life friends spending time together as they walk around their neighborhood and their usual hangout spot on the train tracks near Ant’s house. Several scenes take place in Saunders’ childhood home, as well as a classroom in his former high school where he wrote “Yellow Hearts.”
Orville Peck’s “Nothing Fades Like The Light” video premieres at The Boot, adds 2020 headline shows
“Nothing Fades Like The Light” comes from Peck’s critically acclaimed debut album Pony and was recently featured on HBO’s hit show “Watchmen.” After selling out every North American performance in 2019, Peck will continue to tour throughout 2020, making stops at the Stagecoach and Shaky Knees festivals in addition to an Australian tour and newly confirmed stops in Santa Fe, Oklahoma City, Dallas, San Antonio and Houston with additional dates to come. Tickets and VIP packages for the new headlining dates will go on sale to the general public on December 13 at 10 a.m.local time.

South African born, Northern California raised artist Nick Leng returned in wondrous fashion with gorgeous, intricate indie offering Lonely Shade Of Blue in early November, gaining the acclaim of the likes of Wonderland Magazine, FAULT and more in the process. Today the gorgeously poised piano led offering is given a stellar visual treatment crafted by Drey Jordan Singer (collaborator on Paul Thomas Anderson directed videos for Haim, Radiohead, Thom Yorke, The Growlers). Shot on a 35mm surplus reel gifted by Anderson, Lonely Shade of Blue is the first music video ever filmed at The Record Collector, a legendary Los Angeles based record store. A melancholic break up ballad, the video for the track follows him through an oceanside dream-state haunted by the memory of love lost to time and the pain of letting go.

Produced by DY of 808 Mafia, a frequent collaborator of Durk’s, “Blika Blika” is a ferocious drill anthem, as Durk takes aim at those who don’t live by the code of the streets: “Why you steady asking for my car like you be sliding?/On the ‘Gram like you be lurking knowing damn well you hiding/Heard the feds try to sign you to a deal I heard you signed.” Complete with kinetic animation, the “Blika Blika” video finds a fiery Lil Durk taking out his aggression in front of neon-green OTF (Only The Family) graffiti. “Blika Blika” follows G Herbo and Booka600-featuring “Riot” as the latest video from the Family Over Everything, the mixtape by Durk’s Only The Family label, arriving December 11th.
Neon Indian – “Toyota Man”
Neon Indian returns in 2019 with “Toyota Man.” This track marks a new era for Alan Palomo’s project, as it’s his first song in his native language (Spanish) while musically introducing a new psych-cumbia infused direction. “We came here to study, we want to work,” he sings as a protest, playfully followed by dueling riffs of “La Cucaracha” with the Star-Spangled Banner.

Australian powerhouses Ocean Alley return with the smooth new single ‘Tombstone’, infusing their summery, psychedelic sound with a sprinkling of funk, soul and classic rock.
Recorded at The Grove Studios and produced by long-time friend and collaborator Callum Howell, the passionate and heartfelt ‘Tombstone’ dives headfirst into bright, psychedelic tones and a floating melody, creating an intoxicating combination pairing Baden Donegal’s buttery vocals with the group’s signature epic harmonies. The track reminisces about a place that was once the perfect respite, however is now just a wasteland, and the sombre lyrical tone is juxtaposed by the upbeat drums and endlessly catchy chorus.
