Arlo Parks Shares New Single ‘Angel’s Song’ & Announces UK/EU Headline Tour
Young London musician/poet Arlo Parks has today shared her new single ‘Angel’s Song’; the final taster from her forthcoming ‘Sophie’ EP. Stripped back and reflective, ‘Angel’s Song’ makes you feel like you’re living out the moment too. It was written in her bedroom when she was just sixteen, and in her words “It’s an observational piece surrounding a person I cared about a lot – it details their vices and habits and worries. I remember sending it to them in the early hours of the morning and hoping that it would uplift them and make them feel loved.”
Heather O’Neill Shares Shattering New Single Inspired By Rare Psychiatric Condition
Heather O’Neill has turned to a little-known medical condition from the past to get inspiration for her latest single, Glass Delusion, the follow-up to the radio success, Pricking a Witch. From King Charles VI to Tchaikovsky ‘glass delusion’ is, as the name somewhat suggests, a disorder which makes the sufferer believe they are made of glass and therefore doomed to shatter at the slightest touch. Although it is now only very rarely seen in modern times, it proved fascinating for the well-travelled singer-songwriter:
Ollie Trevers plumbs the depths of human psychology on his Cordelia EP
“Can’t Make It Up was written as a result of a rather turbulent period in my life, I think a lot of people have experienced a similar despondency, and I’m really happy that I managed to find a way to share that in my music…especially as I sometimes find it too hard to write about things that are that personal.”
Stalking Like Candy – ‘Friedrich Nietzsche’ Single & Video
Following closely in the wake of their successful debut album, Punctronika, Art-Rock assemblage Stalking Like Candy return with an EP that is a pastiche of generational dark humour and a monstrous sense of creative freedom. BOY IN SPACE RELEASES OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR ‘ON A PRAYER’ FEATURING SHY MARTIN
Lundbäck explains, “I had just watched the movie ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.’ I loved it so much I saw it four times in two weeks…. it inspired a lot of the look and feel for the music video. We had one free day in LA, so we just ran around with a really small film team and pretended like we were Quentin Tarantino for the day.”
New > Ego Ella May Reveals New Single > ‘Girls Don’t Always Sing About Boys’
Hot on the heels of the release of the acclaimed ‘So Far’, an anthology of previously released music featuring production from Wu-Lu, Budgie IAMNOBODI, Warren XcInce and more – ‘Girls Don’t Always Sing About Boys’ serves as not only a beautifully written challenge to the subjects spoken about in music, it is also a precursor to her debut full-length album, due for release early next year.
BASIA BULAT – New Album “Are You in Love?” out 27th March via Secret City Records
In celebration of the forthcoming album Bulat is premiering her new single and video “Your Girl.” “I wrote Your Girl during a snowstorm in Montreal and recorded it under the warm desert sun in Joshua Tree,” says Bulat. “Someone once told me you can’t sing and cry at the same time but that wasn’t true for me when we were recording this one. There’s joy in finally being free from a painful situation, relief, laughter—even as it feels impossible to ever forget the pain or understand why that storm came through your life the way it did. And so, light on your feet, you dance with the memory instead. If you’re listening to this song and understand what I mean, know that I’m singing with you as we’re dancing in that swirling wind.” The video was directed by Brian Sokolowski and filmed in northern Quebec.
London Rockers Amada Of Secrets release Make Me Over – FFO Skunk Anansie
“This track is a milestone for the band. All of our songs come from experience, but we felt that we were laid bare with this track. So much so that we delayed releasing it, and even went on hiatus as a result of writing it. It brought all of our anxieties, fears, and accomplishments (and even lack of) to the forefront. That level of honesty scared us. This track symbolises our return, a coming to terms with who we are and what we believe in”
