Invisible Oranges Premieres Iron Desert From Chicago Noise/Sludge Metal Trio

Offers Invisible Oranges of the offering, “Equal parts psychedelic, doom, and noise, Chicago trio DEN upends your mind’s wavelengths instead of just amplifying them. Their forte involves combining heady, fuzzed-out atmospherics with gloomy grooves and plenty of overhead roar (lending itself also to a captivating live performance)…Whether it’s the opening plod of ‘Svalbard’ and its mighty dirge or the minimalist noise/vocal excursions of tracks like ‘Bones & Flies,’ DEN never so much begs for your attention as it does just capture it, stealthily…”

Golden Cinema EP out now!

About the EP release: “Our new “Peachy Keen EP” was recorded over the summer of 2019, with Derek and I recorded our parts on Prince Edward Island and Chris recording his guitar and vocals in Toronto. Due to working on a shoestring budget we weren’t all able to be in the same place, which started off feeling like a roadblock but ended up being a fun experiment! After the basic recording was done we sent the songs to our mixer and long-time pal, Dan Griffin (Teen Ravine, Arkells), who added some killer synths and strings and mixed the hell out of it. Dan Weston, who Chris actually plays on a softball team with, mastered the songs which was exciting because he mixes and masters records for a lot of our favourite Canadian musicans, such as Daniel Romano. We’re thrilled with how the songs turned out and can’t wait to get back to work on more music. Maybe it’s finally time for a full length album…” – Andy

LILY KERSHAW Releases Sophomore Album ‘Arcadia’ + CNN Music Monday

Los Angeles singer/songwriter Lily Kershaw has released her anticipated sophomore full-length album Arcadia, available everywhere now. Weaving warmer analog sounds like organ, harpsichord and guitar with cinematic force, thanks in part to producer Ben Cooper (Radical Face), Arcadia is Lily’s most intimate release to date. But the strongest tool she wields is her voice, both in the simmering ferocity it carries and the poetry it speaks. Though the concept behind the record is epic to say the least, Lily is ultimately telling a story of acceptance, both of herself and the great mystery that is the universe.

To celebrate, Lily shares a new video for album track “Always & Forever,” a song she co-wrote with her dear friend, actress Emma Roberts. While she’s primarily known as a folk-pop artist, Lily consistently pushes the limitations of that label. Originally written as a guitar-based tune, she instinctively decided to add synth, creating an 80s sonic texture without succumbing to any of the tropes found in today’s new wave nostalgia.
