We are proud to announce the release of a new track “Apalachicola Blue,” from NYC songwriter/singer/guitarist, Eli Musser, premiered today with BILLBOARD.
The song is the rambling, mellifluous anomaly to the other 10 brilliant tracks on Musser’s self-produced debut album, CONTENT, due out on December 6th.
Grey is back with a hot new track “Grey Area” featuring Sofia Carson. The song depicts that relatable feeling of being in “love limbo”: you don’t know where you stand with someone, but you can’t speak up in fear of ruining what you have. The song opens with choppy, ear-catching strings when Sofia’s emotive vocals enter. “I can’t stay with ya, in this grey area,” Sofia expresses her uncertainty with the current state of her relationship, or lack thereof. Grey’s own Kyle Trewartha’s vocals come in to pair effortlessly with Sofia’s in the second chorus creating a remarkable male-female duet. The two face-off in frustration, but little do they know, they are both fighting on the same side, feeling the same inner struggle.

On ‘IDKY,’ this impressive collection of prolific artists has assembled to reflect on “doing the ‘work’ of art, of mining history and … trauma to find undervalued ideas that might resonate and translate them into the vernacular of our time.'” Private Time is the 3rd full-length offering from Sun Kin, but the first to showcase the project’s new rhythm section, featuring prominent members of Oakland’s indie pop scene. Sun Kin’s Private Time LP is out January 17th.
Wax Charmer share debut single “Emblem”
Today, a triad with some of Los Angeles’ finest emerging talents come together as the new rock group Wax Charmer, sharing their debut single “Emblem,” which premiered by way of local tastemaker Buzzbands.LA. The alt-rock, bossa nova inspired anthem languishes in the reality of modern American life – an era of uncertainty mixed with memories of safer, more stable times long before emboldened hate, blatant corruption and mass deception took over the news.
The track is called “Clear Skies” it has no lyrics but its about travelling the world as you hear the flight attendant call sound, airplane style build, makes you feel almost like your on a vacation. i travel alot so i got the idea on a plane to use that button sound and just kinda took it from there.. Its my 1st song of 4 on the “Theres no eye in Team” EP.
Cheeky and cheerful, Fake It implores you to let go and just dance, the loose flow and jaunty rhythms are a wink and a nod to the gleeful abandon of troubles. In a dedication to keeping it simple and straightforward, front man and the face of a good (me, Murray Cooke says “basically every inner thought I had, and if I ever had a Twitter account or Tumblr account— these [lyrics] would be in it”.

Lynne Hanson (Americana) announces new album produced by Jim Bryson
Canadian singer/songwriter Lynne Hanson is set to release her seventh studio album, Just Words, on February 7, 2020. The new album marks something of an artistic departure for Hanson, who purposely tapped producer Jim Bryson (Oh Susanna, Skydiggers) to push and pull her outside of her comfort zone. Contoured and textured, the result is a more powerful sound than on efforts past, more Steve Earle than Gillian Welch, with a vulnerable underbelly.
Chief State’s guitarist Nik Pang says, “Deciduous is a song about the transition in seasons from summer into fall and winter. As the weather gets colder and the days get shorter, a lot of people, myself included, tend to isolate themselves and get into a really negative headspace. The song uses the metaphor of deciduous and evergreen trees to explain how some really struggle through the colder months, while others remain unchanged. As much as the song is about struggling with seasonal depression, it still keeps a relatively positive outlook, because after all, it never stays cold forever.”
William Prince has announced his second album Reliever, due for release on February 7th via Glassnote Records.

Despite hailing from the landlocked city of Calgary, Canada, Port Juvee’s sound feels unequivocally tied to New York City post-punk with a dash of coastal California surf. Maybe it has to do with the nondescript landscape of endless prairie land and suburban sprawl, but these Canadians have taken to Calgary’s ebbing punk and art scene for solace.

The Deli premiered the track, praising, “A track off the Brooklyn duo’s forthcoming debut EP Little Hits, “Be In 2″ finds its pace in the disconcerting give-and-take of modulating, granular synths and an acoustic percussive backbone, occasionally finding space for shimmering guitar riffs and cheerful vocal accents, endowing the final output with a sound somewhere between Animal Collective and Yo La Tengo.” Drug Couple has also announced their EP release show at The Broadway on 11/18. Little Hits EP is out this Friday via PaperCup Music.
