While we always encourage people to ‘dawn a new day’ when they’re experiencing a difficult chapter in their lives, we also recognize that it’s easier said than done. We’re honored to give back to the music community in this way and we’re determined to find even more ways to help people ‘dawn a new day’ moving forward.”

WENS RELEASES NEW TRACK “RICH & FAMOUS”
Released via R&R/Warner Records, “Rich & Famous” follows her first song “Cinderella” which tackled a little thing called, you guessed it, The Cinderella Complex. Both are from her forthcoming debut EP. “Rich & Famous” follows the honesty of her first release and proves to be an irresistible sing along. The accompanying lyric video sees the singer bringing her lyrics to life with the help from a kitchen essential – tin foil.
Vocalist Jimmy Wizard told The FADER, “The crazy thing about this song is I wrote the lyrics this exact time last year. We had just got back from tour to winter in England and I was feeling lost, and the weather was not helping me being stuck inside going crazy. This song is just about that dark feeling of hopelessness winter sometimes brings when it feels like you will never see light again.”

Wait For It takes a look at navigating intimacy differences in a relationship. I wrote it after reflecting on what I’ve seen in the media regarding sex. Growing up, there was an idea perpetuated in almost every TV show or movie I watched; the idea that sex is a conquest and, even more than that, it’s an all or nothing affair. For a long time I bought into this and I thought that I was only a man if I chased after hookups. Wait For It examines this notion and challenges it. In the end, “waiting for it” (intimacy) becomes a celebration as indicated by the punchy beat and dance atmosphere. The song ends with the simple phrase “it’s alright”, signifying a change in mindset and an acceptance that it’s okay to have reservations about intimacy and to have to communicate different expectations with your partner.
