On Friday, Zippy (project of Pan from Suckers) released their second single “Born To Fly” off of their upcoming Self-Tilted LP Zippy. The single premiered with Northern Transmissions. In the exclusive, Zippy describes the single as, “Meet intoxicated birds tweaking out in hot rods, pitch-shifting on the drag strip, and learning again to flap their wings, in this sonic allegory of the avian persuasion. For glistening purposes only!”

Villagers Releases ‘The Sunday Walker EP’

As fall draws in, Villagers are pleased to announce The Sunday Walker EP. The four tracks collected here are primarily songs recorded around the time of The Art Of Pretending To Swim sessions – Conor O’Brien’s acclaimed fourth album, released last year. The EP is available to stream in full now, with a vinyl release due on November 22nd.

Jackie Charles are three individuals from disparate backgrounds, united by a desire to use art to cope with the dystopian future that is promised to them by the news cycle on a daily basis. They use Berlin as a creative base to formulate this medicinal yet existentialist dream pop.

Fluctuating synths and flickering bass lines provide the backdrop to nihilistic lyrics. The result is a gleaming pop anthem that pleads for listeners to have fun while there are still any parts of the world left to enjoy at all.
