Co-written by CXLOE and Michael Pollack [Maroon5, Jonas Brothers] and produced by MAG [Bebe Rehxa, Zara Larsson, Astrid S] and Louis Schoorl [5SOS], “Devil You Don’t” explores the idea of hiding behind personal angels and devils and dealing with the personality you portray rather than dealing with who you really are. The opening line says it all, “If you knew, what’s going on inside my brain….you’d run away.”
ackerman premiere ‘A Million Sunflowers’ via BIRP.FM
“A Million Sunflowers is the conclusion to our narrative, an epic and melancholy climax that explores the conflicts found in partnerships and relationships: that of codependence, the need for attention and the inherent difficulty of interfacing so deeply with another person. Where 1000 Variations of Yourself was exploring the intricacies of the self, A Million Sunflowers explores the intricacies of partnerships. At the end of this final track, a refrain leaves the story open for interpretation. Do we strike off on our own, returning to the beginning of the narrative, or do we continue into the unknown? As the parting words “I wanted to, I wanted to…” swirl into emptiness, the story floats into 1000 possibilities.”
Metal Bite is currently streaming Born Of Dying Embers, the latest EP from Madison, Wisconsin-based apocalyptic blackened metal unit, TRAGIC DEATH. The premiere comes in advance of the EP’s official release Friday, October 25th.
Indie Pop Producer (Beyonce, Kevin Garrett) Captivating New Visuals
Ursae is a Brooklyn-via-Bay Area indie-pop project by artist/singer Andy Campbell. Campbell’s earnest songwriting, coupled with his experience as a producer, results in a left-of-center pop sound that blends DIY guitars with glittery synths and rolling 808s. The arrangements are meticulous and clean but far from sterile, tactfully walking the line between RnB-pop and indie-rock. Ursae, Latin for “bears” (of which Andy is enamored), wants to be as direct as possible with his message; to Andy, it’s all about efficient storytelling. Ursae confidently turns out something refreshingly honest: pop that comes from someone who isn’t a perfect pop star.

The wounds of his words and actions would not go unnoticed in my life, in my heart, and in my music.”
The Wood Brothers Announce New Album ‘Kingdom In My Mind’ – First Single Available Now
The Wood Brothers have announced the release of their next studio album ‘Kingdom In My Mind’ due January 24 via Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers. The 11-song collection is the band’s most spontaneous and experimental work yet. Recorded over a series of freewheeling, improvised sessions, the album is a reckoning with circumstance, mortality, and human nature. The material finds strength in accepting what lies beyond our control as it hones in on the bittersweet beauty that underlies doubt and pain and sadness with vivid character studies and unflinching self-examination. While the lyrics dig deep, the arrangements are buoyant and transportive, drawing from a broad sonic and stylistic spectrum.
There’s undeniable songwriting chemistry between vocalist/guitarist Camilo Medina and bassist Javier Forero, who met as kids in Bogotá, Colombia and years later reconnected by sheer happenstance after their families had both moved to Miami. Now Chicagoans, and joined by guitarist Guillermo Rodriguez and drummer Pierce Codina, the rhythmic, soulful—and at times bilingual—Latinx punk songs of Divino Niño are a reflection of their continent-spanning bond and proof that the band couldn’t have formed without unlikely but happy coincidences.
With Nicholas Pentabona on bass and vocals, and Morgan Berns handling drums, vocals, and pedal organ, BEDTIMEMAGIC delivers a caustic style of noise rock-influenced grime-pop thunder reminiscent of the gnarlier acts of the Sub Pop and Amphetamine Reptile rosters. The duo’s grooves explode on Pillow Talk, having sanctioned the talents of Andrew Schneider (Cave In, Daughters, Unsane) to produce and mix the album and adequately corral their booming riffage, after which the tracks were mastered by Carl Saff (Child Bite, Fu Manchu, Fifteen).

“By releasing more than 12 projects over the last four years, with contributions from Atlanta power players and producers ranging from Migos to Zaytoven, Hoodrich Pablo Juan’s unique flow has permeated through DeKalb County’s invisible boundaries and straight into the buzzing rap scenes in Dallas, and the D.M.V. Paralanguage was inspired by Will Samson’s first – and only – experiments with psilocybin. For some time, following the death of his father in 2012, the British musician had suffered from mild PTSD, unable to process the grief provoked by the sudden nature of his passing, but it took him several years before he felt confident enough to explore the possibilities this popular compound was said to offer. Finally, he and his girlfriend retreated to the countryside for a day, and Paralanguage seeks to emulate that experience.
