JACK LARSEN RELEASES DEBUT LP MILDEW
Chicago psychedelic-pop artist Jack Larsen has released his debut LP Mildew available now via Chicago’s Closed Sessions label. Part Jónsi part Brockhampton (Jack counts Kevin Abstract as an early supporter) with elements of shoegaze, psychedelia, paranoia, and pop the album including the urgent single “Spirit” that was accompanied by an incredible visual described as “utterly brilliant” by Elevator Mag along with driving “Vanity” that Larsen wrote at his lowest point. From there the album expands into a layered coming of age story, expansive in sound and theory; flooding out of the confines of the tiny, dilapidated living space that inspired the headspace for Jack to write Mildew.

Andy Shauf announces new album “The Neon Skyline” out January 24th 2020 via ANTI- Records
The interconnected songs on The Neon Skyline, all written, performed, arranged and produced by Shauf, follow a simple plot: the narrator goes to his neighborhood dive, finds out his ex is back in town, and she eventually shows up. As with Shauf’s last solo album, 2016’s The Party, The Neon Skyline is densely layered with an abundance of charming moments. His characters are all sympathetic here, people who share countless inside jokes, shots, and life-or-death musings when the night gets hazy. Today, he offers the first taste, “Things I Do”, which examines the dissolution of the narrator’s past relationship over tense and jazz-minded instrumentation.
