Rochester Noise Rock Band Full Body Premieres “Alias” on MXDWN Music
Full Body own their name. The Rochester, NY quartet play a robust breed of gangly rock music that lurches in the intersection between impatient slowcore, gnarled shoegaze, and noisy post-hardcore. The band introduced their dynamically sensitive appeal on their ambitious 2017 debut, What’s Good?, a record that threaded needly guitar licks through a thick fabric of bashing drums and distinctly scratchy vocals. Their highly anticipated follow-up, Always There, is a level up in every conceivable category. Jack Chaffer’s tornado-like drumming is even gustier; the guitar parts bounce excitedly between jerky math-rock and stormy bursts of shoegaze; the bass tones are absolutely crushing; and Dylan Vaisey’s pacific, drawn-out croons wrap around the erratic compositions, preventing Full Body from ever losing their own limbs amidst the chaos.

THE BEDROOM WITCH: LA based Iranian American Trans Woman releases “Sea of Insects”, a dark-pop single that buzzes with mystery

Recorded and mixed by Mashiahof and to be released by Psychic Eye Records on October 15, the album Diaspora chronicles the Bedroom Witch’s fantasy origin story to arrive at her emotional truths as an Iranian American Trans Woman.
“Softie was inspired by the art and music that I was consuming at that time. Paul Klee’s paintings – his use of colour and form – had a profound influence on me during the recording of this project. The feeling I have when seeing abstract expressionism is one that I’m still attempting to translate into song. I was also listening to quite a bit of hiphop during this time, specifically Gang Starr and MF DOOM.”

QUEEN & SLIM: THE SOUNDTRACK SET FOR NOVEMBER 15 RELEASE ON MOTOWN RECORDS
On November 15, Motown Records will release Queen & Slim: The Soundtrack. Starring Oscar® nominee Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out), Queen & Slim is a powerful, consciousness-raising love story that confronts the staggering human toll of racism and the life-shattering price of violence. The film, from GRAMMY®-winning director Melina Matsoukas and Emmy®-winning writer Lena Waithe, is due in theaters November 27 following its November 14 premiere at AFI Fest in Los Angeles, where it opens the festival.
Recorded at Fidelitorium in Kernersville, NC, with co-producer Jason Richmond (Avett Brothers, Steep Canyon Rangers, Don Flemons, Bombadil), the album was recorded mostly live, without vocal tuning, isolation or click tracks. Featuring 11 original compositions, the album explores all the emotions comprising the worthwhile chaos of the human experience.

Los Angeles-based act Ships Have Sailed are dropping anchor with their much-anticipated new single, “Skin.”
“Skin,” brilliantly captures the band’s infectious brand of sincere indie pop-rock, while examining the question: Has anyone ever told you that you need a thicker skin?
Comprised of vocalist and guitarist, Will Carpenter and drummer Art Andranikyan, Ships Have Sailed creates music that is uplifting, buoyant and filled with thoughtful and conscientious lyrics.
The eleven dynamic songs which create CREPUSCLE’s Heavenly Skies were heavily captured by the band, with all guitars, bass, and vocals recorded at founding member Eligio Tapia’s home studio during sessions over an entire year. The tracks were reamped by Nick Loiacono at Fang Studios in San Mateo, who also recorded the drums and acoustic guitars, and handled mixing and mastering. Fitted with vibrant cover art by German artist Aerroscape, the Heavenly Skies LP is now completed for its release.
Watch Ruby Lovett’s “Straight From My Heart”
Ruby Lovett is pure country. She is heir to a tradition of women with drawls and spunk, women who, truth be told, built and nurtured country music from its beginnings through early Reba.
She is funny, unaffected, and unabashedly traditional in outlook, and the combination makes both her singing and her presence extraordinarily appealing. The fact that such appeal is tied to a beautifully one-of-a-kind voice is all the better.
