MUSIC COLLECTIVE SAUDADE SIGNS WITH SARGENT HOUSE + RELEASE NEW TRACK
Today, the genre-bending instrumental music collective Saudade announced that it has signed with Los Angeles label/management company Sargent House. Along with the news comes “Crisis” a new instrumental track featuring a selection of Saudade members including mastermind Chuck Doom, John Medeski, David Torn (David Bowie, The Bad Plus, John Legend, etc,) and Gil Sharone (Marilyn Manson, Dillinger Escape Plan, etc). Other members of the collective include Chino Moreno, Robert Thomas Jr. of Weather Report, Mackie Jayson of Cro-Mags and Dr. Know of Bad Brains. The track is a pummeling three minutes and thirty-four seconds that makes full use of the breadth of insurmountable talent found in Saudade. The song, produced by Chuck Doom, Chris Bittner and executive produced by Chino Moreno, is accompanied by a video created by Doom that pays tribute to his mentor Jaco Pastorius and features different members of the collective.

The speaker and the listener are in Phillies together at 3 AM, in the fall of 50’s Manhattan as black coffee is poured through the hanging pall of cigarette smoke and steam. Rain lashes the sidewalk outside and a neat bourbon sits untouched by the man in the blue suit whose gaze is fixed on some point, beyond our frame or comprehension. He is waiting for her but she no longer lives in the shared dream of the previous night. ‘I Can’t Wait Forever’ is about the hours lost waiting; lost in the myths we create. How can we ever decide which dreams to follow?
