Sweden’s Helga embraces darkness on devastating new EP ‘The Autumn Lament’
Hailing from the dark forests of Dalarna, Sweden, HELGA re-emerges from the wilderness to release her intense second EP ‘The Autumn Lament’ on September 20th.
Writing from the solitary confines of her cabin with just a guitar for company has given Helga’s songwriting a unique sense of introspection. Employing an eclectic blend of pop, metal, post-rock, goth, folk and classical influences to devastating effect, Helga tells us that the new songs are:
“a musical translation of my inner and physical world. I personally love reverb-drenched music and sounds, drawing inspiration from my dream world, the misty forests, and Swedish folk music.”

GOATHAWKBUFFALO releases hard-hitting first single ‘Pretty Promise’
Known for creating a soundscape that combines southern grooves with bluesy sludge, Copenhagen-based sludge-rockers GOATHAWKBUFFALO are ready with the first single from their upcoming debut album. ‘Pretty Promise’ is a single that will make you want to drive 90 MpH down a dusty dirt road while banging your head to those heavy riffs.
‘Likable’ is the first collaborative release by Los Angeles based VIGILETTI and New York’s Goon Soul. The idea to work on a a project together was conceived after having met at a queer showcase party during World Pride in NYC. Paper Magazine premiered the brand new clip for the track featuring RuPaul Drag Race contestant Laganja Estranja.

Toronto-based pop artist nodisco. debuts first single “Thoughts From Your Car”
Today, Toronto-based newcomer nodisco. makes his debut with the anxiety-driven, pop-infused single “Thoughts From Your Car,” mixed by Chris Zane (Passion Pit, St. Lucia) and mastered by Joe LaPorta (Shawn Mendes, David Bowie). The track, which at first listen is an amicable dose of pop perfection, quite literally stemmed from a life defining moment of panic at the studio.
CYN Releases Debut EP ‘Mood Swing’ Today
The seven-track collection features production from Lars Stalfors (Cold War Kids, Cuco, St. Vincent) and Matias Mora, and includes three previously released songs, “Never-ending Summer,” which fuses a skittering beat and lush production with sunburst melodies, hailed by Billboard as a “glittering tune,” with an “infectious melody,” and the EP’s hypnotic and hook-y lead single “Holy Roller,” which V Magazine praised for bringing “an unexpected grit to her tender persona,” with Idolator proclaiming it her “best single to date” and “an exemplary showcasing of CYN’s multifaceted approach to pop.” Also on the EP, CYN’s poignant pop ballad, “I’ll Still Have Me,” which PAPER Magazine lauded as a “gorgeous song, sung from the soul…imbued with feeling that lingers.”

Red Tan Releases Touching Tribute to Husband
It is two years since Filipina singer Red Tan tragically lost her husband to the dengue virus, a mosquito-borne condition which is now reaching epidemic proportions across Asia. Still trying to come to terms with this sudden and tragic loss, Red has released ‘Don’t Let Go’, a tribute to her husband in which she attempts to put into words her feelings at losing the man she loved, begging him to come back and explaining that there is nothing she wouldn’t do to get him to stay. Dark and haunting and underpinned by genuine emotion and grief, Don’t Let Go is nevertheless a beautiful track, with Red’s crystalline vocals resonating with anyone who has gone through the grieving process.
