Jonah Tolchin’s ‘Fires For The Cold’ Out Via Yep Roc Records; Fall Tour Starts September 27

Featuring nine original compositions and a cover of Little Feat’s “Roll Um Easy,” Fires For The Cold is a reflection of the conflicts that engulfed Tolchin over the last few years. “Every record I make is like a record in time,” Tolchin explains. “I found that for myself, and for this record, it has been important to delve into the depths of my emotions and confront them head on. The album became a healing process.”

Recorded at Carriage House Studios, the album features many notable guests, including Jackson Browne and Rickie Lee Jones, who provide backing vocals on “Roll Um Easy.” Sara Watkins lends backing vocals and plays violin on “Supermarket Rage” and “Honeysuckle.” The set also features A-list players, including Jay Bellerose (drums), Little Feat guitarist Fred Tackett, Greg Liesz (steel guitar), and Ben Peller (guitar).

The video for Little Lights is a true ode to their surrealist namesake Salvador Dali, with its use of found Dadaist clips to reflect the eerie, supernatural vibe of the song. The flashing lights and spooky, strange, out-of-context footage work seamlessly with the music and complement the mood perfectly.

Pecky – ‘Ride With Me’ Single

Ride With Me was written after mental health took away one of Pecky’s good friends in 2017. Amongst other-worldy waves of electronica and tender guitar lines contains a powerful message. Pecky’s pensive resolve is about holding on to life even when things are looking down and that there will always be people there to pick you up when you’re feeling low. Soulful British songwriter Mike Dignam to release new song and video ‘Under The Influence’ [18th September]

“Under The Influence” was entirely self-produced so I’m unbelievably proud of it. It’s the first record I’ve ever produced and I’ve since gone on to produce my entire album, which will be out early 2020.

Having been away for nearly 3 years now, it feels more important to me than anything I’ve put out so far, and definitely my best works to date. The song is about the idea of heartbreak having control over you, like alcohol or substance abuse, a drug and asking to be excused for out of character actions because this feeling has completely taken over.”
