The track premiered on Pure Grain Audio where the band shared, “This was the first song we wrote for the new EP! We think everyone’s had at least one situation where someone you felt was a really close friend turned out to be perfectly happy to throw you under the bus when it suited them. This song is about everything that goes through your head in the split second you see a person like that at a party or a show with a bunch of your mutual friends, and it’s the first time you’ve been in a room with them since they showed you they weren’t the person you thought.”

These singles are the perfect follow up to Pretty Groovy as Faux Ferocious continues to evolve their motorik post-punk sound and walk the line between experimental and reachable. The songs have a natural flow and uncluttered lyrics where nothing hides behind walls of reverb and delay. Each part of the music is good enough to stand on its own, but the totality is bizarrely exceptional.

Today, VALLEYS follows up their Tragic Hero Records debut with “Fearless Minds” which features Garrett Russell of Progessive Metalcore staple, Silent Planet. The song takes a stab at people’s willingness to believe everything they are told without question. It goes on to describe how society is groomed to be obedient and herded like sheep, looking to television and social media influencers for answers. The ultimate truth can only be found from within ourselves. As most know, Russell is a huge advocate for mental health in the metalcore community. This track spreads a message of self-awareness.

A Permanent Shadow questions faith in new single “Fool” [synth-pop, post-punk]
What happens when a fanatic loses his conviction? After the debut single, “Empty”, A Permanent Shadow follows up with the track, “Fool”, which poses this question. The song was written in the aftermath of the Barcelona terror attacks in 2017. Frontman CP Fletcher, who himself resides in Barcelona, asks, “What would a dialogue look like between an extremist, who is motivated by his religious fanaticism to commit such heinous acts, and his God when the first loses his faith?”
