NECROPANTHER: Colorado Metal Unit To Record Third Full-Length
Colorado metal practitioners NECROPANTHER will begin recording their third full-length next month.
Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Allegaeon, Khemmis, Primitive Man) of Flatline Audio in Denver will mix and master the as-yet-untitled offering. States Otero, “I’ve been following NECROPANTHER for a long while and have been of fan of their melodic approach and the honest feel of their songwriting. I can’t wait to dig into this mix and complete what is sure to become a Colorado-born masterpiece.”
KO RELEASES HIS COVER & PERFORMANCE VIDEO OF “HUMAN NATURE”
KO is most commonly known as Kevin Olusola (pronounced Olú-shola), 1/5th of 3x Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum-selling group Pentatonix. In addition to being the beatboxer (as well as vocalist and, occasionally, cellist) for Pentatonix, he’s performed at the 2012 Montreaux Jazz Festival for Quincy Jones and alongside Pharrell at the 57th annual Grammy awards as the featured cellist. KO previously released The Renegade EP, which showcased his inconceivably spectacular celloboxing skills. His most recent performances – including last July’s release of “Time In A Bottle,” last month’s “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood,” and “Don’t Dream It’s Over” – put a fresh spotlight on KO’s lead vocals, while showcasing his artistry as an accomplished and expert arranger, cellist, beatboxer and producer.
The Hold Steady new album out today
The Hold Steady’s new record, Thrashing Thru The Passion, is out today. Thrashing Thru The Passion is the band’s seventh studio album and collects five new songs recorded this year alongside five acclaimed ones released digitally between November 2017 and March 2019. The album was recorded at The Isokon in Woodstock, NY with producer Josh Kaufman and engineer D. James Goodwin. Additional performers include Stuart Bogie, Dave Nelson, Jordan McLean and Michael Leonhart on horns and Annie Nero on backup vocals.
Summer Walker Announces The First and Last Tour
Sultry singer-songwriter Summer Walker is taking her show on the road. LVRN/Interscope Records’ leading lady has announced The First and Last Tour, which launches this fall in New Orleans and has scheduled stops in 34 major cities across the United States, including Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and her hometown of Atlanta. Rising Afro-Latina rapper Melii is the confirmed opener.
2019 has been non-stop for the unorthodox southern belle with the golden voice. In January, Walker released a four-song live EP, Clear, to critical acclaim. Forbes magazine wrote: “…it showcases what makes her so special — her depth, vulnerability and the ability to merge jazz with more contemporary genres while simultaneously expressing raw sentiments about modern love, sex and relationships.”
New Orleans, garage-pop Pet Fangs release debut album ‘Ultra Deluxe’
Garage-pop group Pet Fangs have released their full-length album Ultra Deluxe today. The album includes a ton of singles including their heavily-streamed hit “Afterglow,” the “grungy” (Ones to Watch) “Bitch, Baby.,” their latest track “Problemz,” as well as ton of previously unreleased new songs from the quartet. Ultra Deluxe premiered this week by way of the legendary publication The Big Takeover, who called the album “a wildly lively and fun ride through a number of cool music genres.”

The trio from Umeå, a remote city in Swedens far north, are possibly this most musical of countrys best kept secret. Over five distinctly different albums, Deportees have won plaudits, fans and awards for their constant creativity and reinvention. Their last album, 2015s The Big Sleep was awarded the Swedish Grammy for Best Rock Album, an award the band had also picked up for their previous long-player Islands & Shores. Antipope releases a new music video for “Resolution”
The Finnish extreme heavy metal group Antipope has released a new lyric video. The song “Resolution” appears on “Denial/Survival” album, released in 2017. Mikko, a vocalist-guitarist of Antipope, describes the song as being ‘the conclusion for the previous album. At the same time, it points unremittingly towards the next album, which heralds the beginning of the new era of Antipope.’
Presently, Antipope is finalizing a new full-length album, being the fifth album by the group. The band has hinted at presenting more details about the upcoming album in the form of album title, tracklist, and artwork during the autumn of 2019.
