New Music From YUNGBLUD “Hope For The Underrated Youth” Out Now Via Locomotion / Geffen Records

YUNGBLUD is known for voicing what he feels are major concerns for his generation, using his music to unite and empower the youth of today. New single “Hope For The Underrated Youth” is no exception and explores the idea of his generation being misunderstood and underestimated. Of the track, YUNGBLUD said: “The world right now tells us fall in line, it tells us what you’re allowed to care about, think about, even to the point what air you should fucking breathe. Things are changing drastically, a lot of the time not for the better and it’s hard to watch. I meet so many young people every day and the one common denominator I find is the constant fire to defy apathy and the optimism to do anything in your power to fight for a better, more equal world. This song is about freedom of speech. This song is about freedom of expression. This song is about the forward thinking, racism hating, LGBTQ+, liberal “sinners” that we all are. I see that there is hope for this “underrated youth” and I believe the future looks bright because we are in it.”

New video: The Modern Strangers release hypnotic visual for new single ‘Visions’

Speaking about the video, frontman Max Davenport says, “We filmed the video at the beginning of July in a dance studio in London. Thomas Ashton (who is our drummer, Will’s cousin) kindly offered to choreograph a dance routine to the song. We’d seen some videos of his previous work and knew he’d be able to create something amazing for it. He bought in two other incredible dancers, Jasmine and Frankie who we can’t thank enough for coming and being a part of the video.

Watch > Brother May (Micachu, Kwes, Tirzah) shares Akinola Davies-directed video for “In For The Kill”

“As a genre defying artist, I wanted the song to convey the extent of my versatility as an artist. “In for the Kill” exhibits my experimental skills, the song displays the use of abstract sounds and the free lyrical context in my music. The song pronounces to the listener the importance of never being afraid to shine because “riches they live in me”… and whatever you do in life, go in for the kill and do it from the heart.”

Nowhere is that more evident than debut mixtape No Retreat, No Surrender.

Cellist Maya Beiser confronts climate change in new “Water” video at Apple Music

Maya Beiser’s new solo album delugEON, is set for an August 30th release date on her brand new imprint Islandia Music Records and follows up to 2016’s TranceClassical, where collaborated with the likes of Michael Gordon, Imogen Heap, Glenn Kotche, Lou Reed, David Lang, Julia Wolfe, Mohammed Fairouz, and David T. Little. For delugEON, the album concept began with arctic icebergs and the dark rhythms created by the sound of their near-continuous melting. As she listened to these sounds, Maya imagined the layers of her singing cello, being permeated by the sounds of a vanishing natural world. It’s a timely treatise, really — elegiac but not hopeless.
