The Bergamot Release New Single “Mayflies”
Not a word is spoken. Industries lumber on, cars speed away, and water pollution skyrockets – mayflies die. This vital part of the world’s natural ecosystem collapses, today, right now. As the world debates climate change, industrialization, and pollution the world is collapsing on itself right in front of us, silently. This highly vulnerable insect needs an anthem, we need an anthem, an awakening. “Mayflies” attempts to shift a difficult conversation from what could happen – TO WHAT IS ALREADY HAPPENING.

Anna Wise is best known for her work with Kendrick Lamar, and in 2016 she won a GRAMMY for her collaboration with Kendrick on “These Walls.” KEXP called the song “a legitimate song of the summer contender, with a bouncing rhythm and enchanting hook that feels like it could loop endlessly in any rooftop party or sweating in traffic with the windows rolled down… Funk, electronic, and R&B all swirl together effortlessly on McFerrin’s sonic canvas.”
Born and bred in London, John Hoyles moved to Sweden in his early teens where he became the lead guitarist in the legendary doom metal band Witchcraft in the year 2000. Nine years later he founded the band Spiders, and in 2016, he formed the group Big Kizz, together with his friend Axel Sjöberg from Graveyard. Whether creating in tandem with his fellow musicians or flying solo on his own, Hoyles creates music from the heart: some punk, pub rock, a little 70’s glitter, heavy psych and a touch of vintage metal. His playing and singing are honest and accomplished while his warm, wicked tone is unmistakable.

Austin’s Matthew Squires Returns With First LP in Three Years
“Artistically, ‘Strange Day,’ as well as the rest of the new album, offers a bit more restraint than his previous music, while dropping cultural and literary references from Melville and Shiva to Donald Duck.
“‘Strange Day’ opens on austere guitar riffs flowing into an innovative, even eccentric, melody, reminiscent of Talking Heads covering The Kinks. Raw, dirty guitars ride a measured beat, as Squires’ voice takes on a brooding, philosophical tone. The lyrics alternate between puzzled meditation and ironic nonchalance.” – Popdust
