“Believe me when I say his solo material is absolutely incredible. It really bridges the gap between what Modern Baseball were known for and his emotive indie-rock sensibilities. It takes Jake’s signature mouth-full writing style, adds in some new influences from bands like Wilco, The Weakerthans, Jets To Brazil and Pedro The Lion, and comes out with something completely fresh. If you heard his debut this feels much more mature and there’s a clear leap forward in terms of the production and dynamics.”
