With an impressive resume of film scores under his belt while having created a living legacy in the Los Angeles “new music” world via The Echo Society, composer Rob Simonsen launches a new chapter in his already successful career by signing to Sony Music Masterworks as a recording artist, with his label debut album set for a Fall 2019 release. Indie-pop artist Zuli has released a new single “ur mistaken,” his first since his critically-acclaimed debut album, On Human Freakout Mountain. Where Freakout Mountain encapsulated the tremor and hysteria of early adulthood, “ur mistaken” soothes the listener with lush falsetto, soulful melody, and Zuli’s signature distortion.

“I wrote ‘ur mistaken’ with two points of view in mind,” Zuli explains. “How I viewed myself at the time and from the point of view of my loved ones. Self-conscious about my position as an artist and how that affects my relationships. A reflection on the constant teetering between what I love and those I love most.”

The song sounds very calm and chill but in the lyrical content there’s an air of tension because of that refusal to accept things as they are.”

Guitarist Gregory Goodloe is “Stylin'” with his first Billboard No. 1 single

R&B-jazz guitarist Gregory Goodloe is typically lowkey and chill, but he was especially humbled when he received the call that his single, “Stylin’,” went No. 1 on the Billboard singles chart. The song, written and produced by hitmaker Darren Rahn and showcasing Goodloe’s electric jazz guitar bravura, serves as the title track to the guitarist’s upcoming album, due this fall.

Goodloe’s sound straddles jazz straight-ahead and contemporary, jacked with a swig of hip hop swagger. Rhonda Vincent Releases New Single “Like I Could”

Rhonda Vincent, affectionately known as the Queen of Bluegrass, premiered her brand new single “Like I Could” onstage at the Grand Ole Opry on Wednesday, June 19. Co-written by Grand Ole Opry country music star Jeannie Seely, along with Erin Enderlin and Bobby Tomberlin, Vincent’s bluegrass interpretation of the country song is a beautifully composed, string-driven melody, which highlights her soaring vocal abilities. The song also made it’s online premiere at the Bluegrass Situation.

“As soon as Jeannie Seely started singing ‘Like I Could’ to me, I instantly loved it. It felt like it was written just for me and my vocal style. As we were recording the tracks, it just felt right. You know when you can feel that something is just right for you; like trying on that perfect dress, or pair of shoes. This song was just the right fit.”
