Dead Is The Cat – The Gulf Coast Indie Funk You Ordered Is Here

Dead Is The Cat announce the August 30th release date of their full-length, For All We Know, and celebrate by sharing the single “Inter-Dimensional Disco Balls” an uncompromising statement of intent with regard to the upcoming album. Lord know what’s going on in those central Florida suburbs, but there’s no denying this is some seriously oddball rock. New-wave, alt.rock, and funk collide into a frenetic track that strays into lyrical territory covering taoism and animal vocalization.

Big Gigantic share first single in 3 years, “You’re The One” feat. Nevve

“We’re so excited to start this next phase of Big Gigantic. We’re starting the process of looking directly inward with our song ‘You’re The One’. The theme of the song is loving yourself, which in this day is something we could all do more of. We put so much pressure on ourselves to succeed, do the best we can, be the best we can & keep up with others around us. That pressure can easily turn from something positive and motivating, into something negative and uninspiring. It can lead to some dark places so it’s important to take a step back and remember to take time to love yourself.” – Big Gigantic

Toronto Trapper Swagger Rite Shares the Gritty “In Love With The K” Clip

Foregoing the gauzy and melodic sound favored by many rappers in his hometown, Swagger Rite is a different type of Toronto emcee. Delivering a raucous video for his latest lurching anthem, Swagger Rite shares “In Love With The K.” Riding a whirring, noisy, lumbering Kaiju of a rap beat, Swagger Rite shows off his cadences on the track, alternating clipped bursts of syllables with longer phrases as he threatens his enemies with an untimely doom. As the track moves, Swagger Rite’s trance deepens, his voice mutating into a chopped-and-screwed bellow. In the video, featured prominently on WorldStarHipHop, the rapper posts up in his neighborhood, showing off his gold teeth, busting moves with his crew, and sharing a blunt with a friendly statue.
