HUNJIYA (hun-jee-yuh) is singer and producer, Alice Kim, releasing her new single ‘Give It/What I Get’, following her debut EP ‘Lineage’.
Born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in a small town in upstate New York, Alice Kim combines memorable, yet confessional storytelling with her unique mixture of soul-infused guitar-pop and alternative R&B. The 21-year old artist creates a world full of colour in her music and aesthetic – inspired by her mother, a visual artist.
Teaching herself the basics of production, HUNJIYA developed her skill at university, honing in on carving vast and spacious soundscapes, providing the perfect foundation for the defiant and ethereal sound of ‘Give It/What I Get’.
Floating in between electronic synths and airy guitar and vocals, the track breaks down into a pitched down, downtempo alt-R&B refrain worthy of a place in Sampha’s catalogue, perfectly demonstrating Alice’s dynamic production.
