“Duke Dillon is my name. I’m a songwriter in Nashville, based out of Oklahoma. I’m a business owner. And have been writing for 20 years. Hardcore country music fan. I wrote this tune with the idea of getting it to rascal Flatts for review and possibly record. 44 years old. Married with 1 boy. Guitar player. Singer songwriter.”

Jorja Smith shares new “Goodbyes” video

On the heels of an incredible 17-date collaborative tour with Kali Uchis, Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Jorja Smith shares her new video for the hauntingly beautiful single “Goodbyes”. Taken from her critically acclaimed, Mercury Music Prize-nominated album Lost & Found the evocative track sees Jorja discussing the process of mourning and regret after death. The sensitively filmed visual was produced by long-term collaborator, Rashid Babiker (“On Your Own” and “Teenage Fantasy”) and was shot at Jorja’s home. Complete with fire lanterns and a perspective of looking through the lens, the simple emotion evoked through the lyrics takes center stage among the deep and transparent visuals. It inspires an intense feeling of emotion and is stripped of any theatrics.

Young Optimist for Skope?

When Andy Brooks (former Vocalist for Transmit Now) asked Shohn (former Guitarist and Vocalist for Repel The Robot) to produce a few demos for him in the Winter of 2016, neither of them had any idea it would create what is now YOUNG OPTIMIST. Songs that started as simple ideas thrown together hastily in Garage Band by Brooks, became an eclectic mix of Rock, Alternative, and Pop interwoven between Shohn’s sense of harmony and Electronic production. No overthinking, plotting or pandering; the sessions that became YOUNG OPTIMIST were made solely by doing what felt right in the moment

The Brooklyn, NY resident has a sound so multifaceted it intertwines folk, R&B, and even jazz to create shifting tempos and winding melodies that are poignant, propelling and all-engulfing. She recently shared her leading single, “I Thought,” along with a stunning video directed by visual artist Ayo Tsalithaba filmed in the suburbs of Toronto. Now, she releases a gorgeously sparse cover of Wilco’s “Either Way.”

Kuri – Creativity relies on vision in a figurative and literal sense

Though he may be a singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, Kuri chiefly describes himself as “an observer.” His keen insight and sonic curiosity thread together an intriguing framework of carefully constructed and composed alternative on 2019’s debut album No Village [Nevado Music]. The foundation remains rooted in organic performances, classically infused orchestration, jazzy freeform spirit, cinematic ambition, and ultimately inspired observation. “I like to watch, analyze, and create systems in my brain,” he affirms. “As a solo artist, I enjoy the freedom to express exactly what I want by drawing on what I see.”

New Music // VanDordrecht (PDX pop)

VanDordrecht’s latest pair of singles were written to reflect inward and outward journeys. They’re hook-laden but immersive compositions that brim with transporting narratives, bold ambient textures, and imaginative arrangements that take the listener well beyond the pop-rock verse, chorus, and bridge destinations.

“People often listen to music to escape into another world and connect. When writing these songs, I kept asking myself ‘What is the story I want to tell people?’ I wanted to take people on the journeys inherent in each song,” VanDordrecht shares.

The Coronas – Find the Water – new single released today

‘Find the Water’ marks the beginning of a new campaign for The Coronas, the follow-up to their 2017 No.1 album ‘Trust the Wire’. The new campaign will culminate with the multi-platinum, arena-conquering four piece releasing their sixth studio album in March 2020. Produced by Rob Kirwan (Hozier, PJ Harvey, Local Natives, Editors, The Horrors) ‘Find the Water’ sees the band move into new musical territory, as lead singer Danny O’Reilly explains:

“Musically ‘Find the Water’ is unlike anything we’ve done before – melodically; the vocal delivery; even the arrangement is unusual for us, but yet it was one of those songs where we were all on the same page right from the start and it came together very quickly, which is always a good sign. And out of the 4 songs we recorded with Rob in LA, ‘Find the Water’ felt like the right jumping off point for what the album is going to be.”

HAMMERFALL REVEAL LYRIC VIDEO FOR (“WE MAKE) SWEDEN ROCK” NEW ALBUM ‘DOMINION’

HAMMERFALL frontman Joacim Cans comments, “The lyrical content is direct referrals to songs and bands hailing from the north. In the lyric video we took everything a step further and included photos, not only from bands referred to in the lyrics, but from loads of other Swedish bands. It’s kind of a history lesson in Swedish Hard Rock & Metal.”
