FERGUS releases ‘Too Much’

“This song is about feeling trapped by conflicting emotions, obsessing over everything, then eventually exploding in an outburst you grow to regret, it may be cathartic, but costs your dignity. There’s a sad desperation, but also an element of cruelty in the line ‘I don’t want these memories.'”

Jolé releases ephemeral debut self-titled album via Republic of Music

“This album has been a labour of love for the last two years, not only because it’s the first album I have written as an artist but also because the songs represent an important time in my life. I wrote these songs over a period of a few months; some when I was travelling, some as I was just moving to London and some when I was going through a particularly difficult time in my personal life. With that came a mixture of emotions that I put in to songs resulting in this album. Its full of positivity, looking forward but also reflecting on the past and learning from experience.” – Jolé

“Zsela has a transfixing voice that follows an anachronistic folky-funk tune, like a from-the-gut version of Joni Mitchell and Joan Armatrading. The 23-year-old has been bringing her remixed take on old-school vocals to downtown New York recently, rendering onlookers silent. Her powerful stage presence is almost to be expected.” – VOGUE

Fionn Regan returns with new album Cala out August 9 via Abbey Records

The ten-song album was performed entirely by Regan and was written at his home in Bray, on Dublin’s coastal outskirts, which might partly explain Cala’s recurring imagery: stars, moon, ocean and sun. “The album does have fundamentally elemental, visual components,” he notes. “I wouldn’t mind knowing why! It’s a mystery to me, how songs evolve. Thankfully, they do. But I’ve never got anywhere when I’ve tried to work it out.” Regan concedes, “the place you’re from continues to resonate.”
