Written by Townes, Daniel Tashian and Jeremy Spillman, the song is the second track unveiled from Townes’ forthcoming debut album, produced by Jay Joyce and due later this year on Columbia Nashville. Of the song, Townes comments, “‘White Horse’ is a song about how love can look a little bit differently than we might expect it to. I think we grow up in our society completely surrounded by that fairy tale idea of what love should be, but maybe love is even bigger than that. I think it’s important to be open hearted and to push the boundaries of what society might build up in our expectations. I love that this song stands strongly in the idea that love isn’t always about the ivory towers and the roses.”

Video: Yungeen Ace – “Murder Rate Rising”

With a fiery intensity and a natural sense of melody, Jacksonville’s Yungeen Ace doesn’t make music for the faint-hearted. Gleefully trumpeting his city’s high crime rate as a warning for regular folks to stay away, Yungeen Ace shares “Murder Rate Rising,” his latest video. Produced by Drum Dummie, who lends the track a swinging bombast, “Murder Rate Rising” finds the young emcee rhyming in an impassioned sing-song, holding up the titular statistic as a point of pride–pride for his unlikely survival–and as a threat to his enemies. In the video, Ace mobs in the Jacksonville streets with his crew, including fellow rising rapper Jay Da Youngan, as the Jacksonville police investigate a homicide as his family mourns. After a string of videos and songs that illustrate the tragedy wrought by street life, including the dark “2X Screamin’,” in which Ace mourns his late brother, “Murder Rate Rising” demonstrates the allure of a life of crime to young people who haven’t yet felt the consequences. Hosted on No Jumper, “Murder Rate Rising” is a highlight from Ace’s Life I’m Livin mixtape, which dropped in December.

MOSS KENA RELEASES NEW TRACK “BE MINE” OUT NOW ON RCA RECORDS/COLT CLUB RECORDS

“A killer falsetto; a penchant for R&B and house beats; co-signs from artists like Kendrick and Toddla T – what Moss Kena has earned by rejecting the expectations for blokes in pop music today is his own lane that could see him doing incredible things in future…new single (out today) ‘Be Mine’…– and I don’t say this lightly – an absolute fucking bop. He could, in theory, be the successor to Sam Smith, only with less balladry and more Calvin Harris-y electro-pop bangers. Pay him dust and I will ensure you feel the repercussions.”
