Oliver Heldens Releases Music Video for ‘Fire In My Soul’

The video comes on the heels of Helden’s release of the announcement of his signing to RCA Records, landing a spot in the top 10 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s and the release of “Fire In My Soul,” which has over 3.1 million streams. Billboard called the track, “an absolute blaze,” while Dancing Astronaut said the single “could be Heldens most infectious and groovy offering of the year.”

Indie Rockers Somedays return with another banger in ‘Knock Out’

Drenched to the bone with strange atmospherics and modulation, ‘Knockout’ ostensibly takes its cues from the Brian Wilson notebook of oddball surf rock. Sounding like a gritty and frenetic call to arms, Knockout goes through 5 key changes in 2 minutes and 34 seconds, all the while going from one singalong to the other. At the minute mark the song blooms into a lysergic krautrock-influenced wig-out that washes over the listener like an awesome wave. “The hardest part of recording this song was getting the mistakes to be just right” says rhythm guitarist Eugenio, “Gege” to his bandmates – “We had to go against our own sense of timing to get that swaying jump that you hear right from the first chord – we had to record the part over and over till it felt just, well, wrong.”

VIDEO: Nick Brewer unveils sick animation for ‘Ronaldo’

‘Ronaldo’ see’s Nick at peak fitness with match fit, dazzling flows and soundbites from John Motson depicting Nick’s recent highs and lows, similarly to those of the former Brazil no.9. Each verse sees Nick playing with words just as poetic as a football at the feet of Ronaldo.

Lily McKenzie and Team Salut join forces on powerful new single, ‘Surrender’

A luscious embodiment of Team Salut’s seductive beats, ‘Surrender’ is topped with Lily’s emotive vocals. “I wrote ‘Surrender’ this summer during a time when I felt lost and as if I had a lot of things I needed to let go of; hurt, guilt, insecurities, doubts, and anything that was no longer serving me in a positive way,” added Lily. “One night whilst meditating, I pulled out ‘Surrender and Release’ from my Angel cards, and a few days later I went to the studio with Team Salut and we wrote ‘Surrender’ based on that experience.”

Phil Cook Releases New Track “The Truth”

About the song, Cook says, “’The Truth’ is a song that kicked around in my head for a long time. The first lyrics that came were “Do You Wanna Know or Don’t You Wanna Know.” We find ourselves in this crucial time in history where agreeing on facts feels like it’s slipping away. How can we hope to have real conversations about how we move forward as a country, as a people, if two sides can only see their own narrative’s opinions as facts? We all tell ourselves stories that we are guided by as we make choices and mistakes. We all have the capacity to lie to ourselves to help make that narrative fit. We’re only human, of course. But, also, we’re humans for god’s sake.”

Big Search Unveils “To Feel In Love” on Danger Mouse’s 30th Century Records

Today, Big Search shares a stunning rendition of “To Feel In Love,” originally released by Lucio Battisti in 1977. The Italian love song is emotionally stirring and sonically full, qualities not uncommon to Big Search’s own output. Matt Popieluch is a West Coast troubadour known for playing with the likes of Cass McCombs, Papercuts, Glasser and Sky Ferreira, but performing as Big Search, his music boasts a satisfying semblance to sounds of an earlier time. Nostalgic but inventive, he hits a sweet spot between Tom Petty and Kevin Morby, Neil Young and Sam Cohen. Big Search’s sophomore album is due in 2019 on 30th Century Records.
