New Indie Folk Single Trades in Fear for Faith in a CA Fire’s Wake

The new indie folk single from Daniel Steinbock moves like a sunbeam after a light drizzle of rain, leaving the earth with a glistening varnish of dew. “Out of Blue” is a soft-hearted, introspective look at enveloping love that is uncontrollably honest and surreal. Combining a lush pallet of vocals dancing with a honeyed melody, the single dances through an open field toward the open, glowing sky. The song shines, despite having been recorded under some very dire circumstances. Featuring backing vocals from fellow Sonoma County residents, Rainbow Girls, the single is the title track off the upcoming album, out February 15.

Son Lux Share Stunning New “Yesterday’s Wake” Video

Partyš explains, “The mood of ‘Yesterday’s Wake’ evokes in me the picture of a poetic apocalypse. It sounds like the voices of both singers contemplate it and ask themselves where the failure came from. And that’s what the music video is about. It’s about the personal traits that led to it – greed, callousness and possessiveness. The luxurious and pompous chateau and its surroundings are filled with poison which has been accumulating there for years. And with every next violent and unscrupulous act, this liquid is forced up to the surface to spurt out and become the common blood of things, people and nature. The question is whether this liquid is purifying and if the stream will ever stop.”
