Adam Miko Closes Out the Summer with Love Sick Debut Single “It Only Happens In The Summer”

Los Angeles pop singer-songwriter Adam Miko is thrilled to share the music video for his debut single “It Only Happens In The Summer.” The track is a summer fling gone sour. Featuring tropical, marimba sounds and house-inspired rhythms, Adam’s vocals slide over the groovy, but melancholy, beat.

When writing “It Only Happens In The Summer,” Adam drew inspiration from his own summer fling that ended unexpectedly. “I intended the song to feel like a juxtaposition – something you can dance to that will help you get over the hurt feelings in a breakup. I also wanted it to have edge, like the pain of a break up feels regardless of how positive you stay,” says Adam. He used unconventional production tools, like a pitched down laugh track that is incorporated as drums. The laugh is also a metaphorical nod to the other person laughing at him as he struggles through heartache.

Canadian Folk metal band Mongol released new video “The Return”

The Return, the new album from Canadian folk metal group Mongol, is a concept album written about a Mongolian Prophecy that states that Genghis Khan will return from the grave to complete his conquest of the world. On the album, the band explore what the Great Khan’s return to the modern world would look like. The world appears to have two very different perceptions of the Mongol Empire, most believe that it was a brutal warmongering Empire; conversely it was also among the most progressive and liberal Empires of its time. Both perceptions are true, and Mongol try to encapsulate that essence of duality in their music. Intertwined within the tracks, you’ll find melodic harmonies that conjure imagery of the vast glory of a great united Empire, and the raw beauty of her homeland; but you will also hear ruthless thundering rhythms that recall the reckless unbridled violence of battle.
