Today, Raleigh-based indie rock band, Earther, has released their brand new single, “Wolf.” The track is the third single the band has released this year since their signing with Revival Recordings, following “Wanted” and “The Lake”. Accompanying the single, Earther is also releasing a new music video. When speaking about the video, the band stated, “‘Wolf’ is the final track off The House Always Wins, and the third music video we’re releasing to promote the EP. It’s definitely the heaviest song on the release, as well as our favorite to play live. We shot this video in an abandoned warehouse with no a/c in the middle of June; we felt like we could pass out at any moment, and it was one of the most unforgettable experiences we’ve ever had. Shoutout to Robbie with Angle Media for sticking with us on that one, and for putting together a truly killer video for us.” The track and music video are being featured exclusively on New Transcendence now.

Jess Jones urges you to take life’s chances with “Roll The Dice”

The music is upbeat and inspiring, while the lyrics are more personal and profound. With this balance “Roll The Dice” becomes quite a catchy tune starting off with acoustic guitar and adding bass, organ and drums in an easy to follow progression, and the song rapidly turns into a catchy folk tinged tune . The concept of taking oneself out of your comfort zone and exploring new chances is, in this day in the US, a popular topic of discussion, and Jess Jones manages to sing about her experience in a beautiful way.

Steven “Lenky” Marsden Releases Instrumental Solo Album

Steven “Lenky” Marsden, the Jamaican-born producer best known for creating dancehall music’s landmark Diwali riddim, recently released his sophomore solo album Self Taught, on the maestro’s own Diwali Records imprint. The 11-song instrumental album showcases Lenky’s dexterity on the piano, as well as his depth as an arranger.

“The concept for my new album ‘Self Taught’ was for me to highlight my skills as a pianist, and have fun creating music that I like to listen to. For this project I used my various piano techniques in total contrast to my last album ‘It’s About Me,’ where it was more electronic based,”explains the virtuoso of the concept behind his new LP.

Self Taught shows Lenky’s range as a producer, while he explores Latin textures, contemporary jazz, hip hop, and of course, his native reggae and dancehall. The album’s only features are rhythm section legends Sly & Robbie on the breezy “Which Way Do We Drive,” and Lenky’s son (and Diwali Records label-mate) Q Marsden, who lends his vocals to the jazz hop of “Rapper in the Midst.”
