CHAKRA EFENDI shares nostalgic video for ‘Grow Up’

The second studio-recorded single from the prolific Brisbane-based, Sunshine Coast-raised artist is a driving, melancholic slow-burn, ruminating on impending adulthood and leaving behind a youth spent in suburbia. ‘Grow Up’ follows Chakra Efendi’s debut single, ‘Waste of Space’ and sees the artist wading back into the coming-of-age themes of its predecessor. Where ‘Waste of Space’ revels in a shifting adolescent identity, ‘Grow Up’ reluctantly waves it goodbye. Mulling over the peculiarity but ultimate mundanity of being young, Chakra Efendi says the track is a “a warning to a younger version of myself, isn’t hindsight a killer?”

Introducing | MERES with new single and video ‘Feardom’

In Meres’ words, “I was on tour with a couple of great bands while playing bass for Isla Ka. It was one of those defining moments of feeling a jealousy in the blistering heat of Brisbane, where a musician could take their shirt off quite happily in an effort to cool off from performing excellent bloody music (it’s really bloody excellent music). And I know if I were a confident and outspoken type of person like so many of the musicians I look up to, I’d also happily take my shirt off. But I am not that type of person. I’m modest and insular and introverted. I don’t want people to look at me, to listen to me, and yet I do, but that wanting that, kind of makes me feel like I am a lesser person. Like I don’t work hard enough to write the best music I can or perform with enough confidence. I think watching the bands that night made me realise…maybe it was time to turn everything upside down. And I had no idea what that looked like or meant. ”

Witherfall Drummer Adam Sagans Last Interview

The band would like all to know the following, “Nocturnes And Requiems” is dedicated to the life of Adam Sagan who passed on December 7, 2016 during the final stages of production.

“This, as we know, is the last piece of work that Adam contributed and played on. Adams talent, passion and personality is woven throughout every part of this record as he was easily 1/3 of the creative force. “Nocturnes and Requiems” was a name that Adam eerily came up with one evening when we were figuring out album titles would not have sounded the way it does now without his immense contribution on and off the drums. Adam, we love you and it’s a tragedy that you were not able to see this release. You will always and forever be a member of Witherfall. Rest In Peace man.”

DIVA premiere Glossii’s Headache (“Wolf Alice, Garbage, and Blondie eat your heart out…”)

Glossii is a four piece rock/post punk band created around South London in early 2017 by Charlie Lock and Guitarist Lewis Smith, along with vocalist Sofia Zanghirella and latest joining member, drummer Reuben Rost.

Glossii’s hard-hitting riffs and bursts of aggression create the ubiquitous back-beat for Sofia’s femme-fatale lyrical insight- reminiscent of other bands such as Wolf Alice and Garbage with a detection and a nod to the original allure of Blondie’

NATIONAL LAGARDE Release New Single ‘My Baby Don’t Bring It’

New Orleans group National Lagarde return with a brand new swinging single My Baby Don’t Bring It. This is a brand new track and their first material since last years swampy groove extravaganza that was the album Story Of A Southern Gentleman.

Here’s what lead-man Terry Lagarde had to say about it; “I have always been influenced by old delta Blues and early rock n roll from this Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee region. And fortunate enough to be from this area and to see a lot of that culture and history. I guess My Baby Don’t Bring It is my little National Lagarde take on that style of music, from Elvis to RL Burnside, they have all had some sort of influence on me as a musician and producer of music.”

STEVEN PAGE targets white nationalists in vitriolic new power-pop single ‘White Noise’

“I grew up in a household where social justice was a fundamental value, and I always believed that it was a fundamental Canadian value as well as a central Jewish one,” says Page. “I’ve watched how the term has been twisted and perverted by the Right over the last several years in an effort to diminish the voices of reason.
