Future Generations announce new album via FrenchKiss & share new video
Future Generations have announced their new album, Landscape which will be released via Frenchkiss Records on September 14th. Today the band reveal a video for the first single, “All The Same.” Blackbook Magazine have said “with its quirky, jittery rhythms and thoughtfully existential lyrics…the obvious touchstone would be Talking Heads. But the lush synths, sumptuous harmonies and infectious hooks recall everyone from OMD to Ladytron.” The the band say of the video, “We always felt the video for ‘All The Same’ would have a retro feel to it. When we reached out to potential directors, they all came back with similar visions. We ended up working with Kenneth Polyak and Drew Lewis, whose work we knew through Yoke Lore, a mutual friend. Those guys made filming the video a blast. The video’s general theme is rebellion and nostalgia, which we thought perfectly aligned with the meaning and feeling of the song.”

NEWS: Lee Burridge & Lost Desert Return For Another Dreamy EP Featuring Junior – OUT NOW!

The ‘Elongi’ EP reunites the duo with star vocalist Junior (Akwerty). The trio, last seen together on one of 2016’s standout tracks, ‘Lingala’, racking up fans along the way. Receiving support from Dixon, Pete Tong, Yokoo, Bedouin and Damian Lazarus the track’s longevity is still evident from the one million plays on Spotify and counting.
Junior, although comfortable singing in English, once again choses to return to his roots, singing in his native tongue of Lingala, which is a local dialect from The Democratic Republic of Congo. His lyrics continue the theme explored in ‘Lingala’ of dealing with falling out of love. The sombre theme still creates instantly catchy vocals that flow effortlessly over the track’s tight groove and warm sub-bass frequencies. The melodic house vibes are woven into a delicate xylophone pattern that drive the song.

Tacoma Washington’s Bujemane has gained a cult-like following recently and he shows no signs of slowing down as he proves why he is the prettiest bitch of the year on PBOTY. Bujemane has already had quite the year with two albums released, a second consecutive appearance at Seattle’s Upstream Music Fest, and a KEXP in-studio performance all while managing his own streetwear line “Redzone Worldwide”. This nine track album is an audio display of Buje’s artistic growth filled with oddball production courtesy of Buje’s longtime go-to producer Gary. KEXP’s Martin Douglas aptly claimed that in the best way possible, “Bujemane raps like a severely hungover friend muttering his way through breakfast conversation.” His trademarked melodic style of rapping sees him float over Gary’s ethereal beats but Buje still impresses with his lyrical ability on tracks like “Vip”. Buje and Gary keep improving with each release so get familiar with Tacoma’s rising stars!
