“‘LAST DAY ON EARTH’ is the last song on our album, the last video… and now at long last it drops on the longest day of the year, Summer Solstice. It’s a rock and roll riff on mortality, a squawking circus surf tango musing on the Meaning Of Life itself, a fitting end to the whole Psychsploitation Today shebang. The Prefab Messiahs have been shuffling through this Veil of Tears longer than the average caffeinated hipster, so take it from us, kids: Make the minutes count cause The Grim Guy with the Scythe can cancel your contract with no notice. Maybe we’ll meet up at Ground Zero. Meanwhile, enjoy the funny cartoon!” – Xerox Feinberg, Prefab Metaphysician

Talking about the track, Aaron from the band said: “This video is made up of ‘on the road’ and backstage footage between shows in Liverpool, Manchester and Brighton, recorded over the last few months.. It’s us playing, dancing and getting into it. The plan was to shot from the hip and grab a hold of the 77:78 vibe…ya know see our ugly mugs, see us getting loose. MANTAR Hint at New Song with Dazzling Teaser Video

The track comes off MANTAR’s upcoming third studio album, The Modern Art Of Setting Ablaze, set to be unleashed on August 24, 2018 via Nuclear Blast.

The Modern Art Of Setting Ablaze is a title in-keeping with MANTAR’s symbolic obsession with fire on albums previous; this time disavowing mankind’s tendency to blindly follow those that would lead us into oblivion. This isn’t necessarily a political statement; more a morbid fascination with current smoldering tensions that threaten to set the minds of the masses on fire.

Daya and co-writers Laleh and Joel Little (who both produced the track) penned the song the day after the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in Las Vegas last fall, channeling their sense of grief and processing into a track that harkens back to a nostalgic time when the world seemed more innocent.

“Year Of The Snitch” includes the previously released songs: “Ha ha ha,” “Streaky,” “Black Paint,” “Flies,” “Dilemma,” and “Shitshow.”

Death Grips is Zach Hill, Stefan Burnett and Andy Morin.
